BROTHER MFC-440CN INK CARTRIDGES (BLACK, CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW)

Your Brother MFC-440CN Multifunction Printer is equipped with a built-in system, which is constantly monitoring the status/condition of all installed consumable components. The installed ink cartridges are also consumable components, and as such they are also on the monitoring list of the built-in system. Therefore, once the ink level in any of the installed ink cartridges drops below the normal working minimum, the built-in system will detect the ink cartridges' status abnormality, and you will see the following warning message ''Near Empty'' displayed on the control LCD of your MFC-440CN. The purpose of this advance notification is to give you enough time for a replacement of the nearly empty ink cartridge/cartridges, in order to be avoided interruptions of your work (a non-operational printer mode). In case that you decide to continue using your multifunction printer with the nearly empty ink cartridge, then you can expect the appearance of the following error message ''Ink Empty'' very soon. Please note that this message is indicating a non-operational printer mode caused by an exhausted ink cartridge, which means that you won't be able to complete your current task or to print new documents, until a new ink cartridge (from the same color as the exhausted) is installed. Herein, it is always better if you keep a spare set of ink cartridges in stock, but remember to store all consumable components in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

The ink cartridge replacement in your Brother MFC-440CN Multifunction Printer could be performed in less than 5 minutes, and there are no special tools or technical skills required. You must start the procedure by opening the cover of the ink cartridges' compartment, which is located on the front-left side of the main unit. After that, you must unlock the exhausted ink cartridge by pulling its lock release lever towards you, and then remove the cartridge from the printer by carefully pulling it towards you. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unpack the new ink cartridge, and then remove its protective yellow cap by pulling it off. Please note that you must avoid touching the contact area (under the protective yellow cap) of the new ink cartridge, in order to be avoided future print quality problems. Now, you must correctly align the new ink cartridge with the corresponding ink cartridge slot (check the position of the arrow printed on the ink cartridge's label), and then insert the new ink cartridge until it stops. In the final step, you must confirm the new ink cartridge installation and the ink dot counter reset by pressing [1], when the following message ''Did You Change XX'' appears on the control LCD of your Brother MFC-440CN Multifunction Printer.
