LEXMARK C540 BLACK TONER CARTRIDGE

The Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer is equipped with a sophisticated monitoring system, which provides information about the status of all installed consumables. You can check the status of all installed consumables from the [Supplies] menu.
All system notifications and print quality problems related to the condition of the installed toner cartridges are listed and explained below.

[30 <color> Toner Cartridge Missing] is displayed – This message will be displayed if the specified toner cartridge is missing, incorrectly installed, or defective. You should try to solve the problem by reinstalling the specified toner cartridge. Please replace the indicated toner cartridge if the problem persists.

[31.yy Defective <color> Cartridge] – The Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer has detected that the specified toner cartridge is not functioning correctly. You should reinstall the specified toner cartridge, turn the laser printer off, and then turn it back on. The specified toner cartridge must be replaced if the problem persists.

[32.yy Replace Unsupported <color> Cartridge] – The indicated toner cartridge cannot be used in your Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer. You must install a new, compatible toner cartridge of the corresponding color.

[88 Cartridge is low] – The Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer will display this early warning, in order to give you enough time for a purchase of a new toner-cartridge set. You should purchase a new toner-cartridge set soon.

[88 Replace <color> cartridge] – The indicated toner cartridge is empty. You must install a new <color> toner cartridge.

Blank printouts – You must make sure that the packing material has been completely removed from the toner cartridges during the installation. You should install a new toner-cartridge set if the problem persists.

Black or colored lines – One or several of the installed toner cartridges are defective. All defective toner cartridges must be replaced.

Incomplete printouts – The most common cause for this problem is an insufficient toner level. Please replace all exhausted toner cartridges.

Insufficient print density – Another Toner Low indication. You should check the toner levels, and then replace all exhausted toner cartridges.

Initially, you must make sure that your Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer is on, and then open the top door by sliding its releasing button to the left. After that, you must unpack the new toner cartridge, and then unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by pulling its handle upwards. Now, you must pull the exhausted toner cartridge away from the drum unit to remove it from the laser printer, and then insert the new toner cartridge into the empty slot until it clicks into place. Finally, you must close the top door of your Lexmark C540 Color Laser Printer.
