DRUM for DELL 1710N LASER PRINTER

There is a particular light sequence blink code that the dell 1710n displays when it is time to replace the unit’s imaging drum. Another way to determine the life of the current drum is by printing a printer settings configuration sheet, which will have data on the lives of the current consumables. The device WILL stop operating when its drum counter reaches 40,000 prints.

Open the front cover of the dell 1710n by pressing the button on the left side of the unit. Once open, do not release the toner cartridge from the drum but instead pull the entire drum/toner assembly out of the machine by its handle. Place the assembly on a flat surface.

Press the release button on the base of the cartridge assembly to unlock the toner cartridge from the drum unit. Always hold the toner cartridge by its handle and separate the two pieces.

Open the new imaging drum and recycle the old one. The toner cartridge must be installed in the drum before it is inserted into the printer. To accomplish this, slide the white rollers on the sides of the toner cartridge into their corresponding groves inside the drum unit. The drum unit should snap firmly into place.

At this point, the drum assembly can be inserted into the printer by lining up the BLUE arrows on the sides of the cartridge assembly with those inside the printer. Slide the drum into place along the track. Hold the CANCEL button until all lights flash, this will reset the drum count. Close the front cover to complete installation.
