Dell 2350DN Review
With a standard duplex unit and sizable paper storage facilities, the Dell 2350DN is a great paper handler for the home desktop or small office. This speedy device boasts a full 400 MHz processor and a listed print speed that is very sizable indeed, though real world usage will often result in lower levels of performance.
Unlike the Dell 2350DN’s sister unit, the Dell 2355DN, this unit does not include a document glass for scanning, copying, and faxing. It is a much simpler laser printer, yet it does include a duplexer an Ethernet port. Thanks to the device’s high monthly duty cycle, the device is great for sharing across a wired network both at home and at work. Sharing a printer with such a low cost per page (around 1.8 cents/page) is a great way to save money on basic black and white document printing.
While Dell advertises a quite impressive print speed for the unit of 38 pages per minute, users printing in real world scenarios will be quite disappointed when they see what the unit is really capable of. Some real world testing has recorded the Dell 2350DN’s realistic print speed at somewhere around 9 pages per minute, which is literally more than four times less that of their quoted speed rating. Of course, it truly ass depends on what the device is being used for.
