PANASONIC DP-C262 YELLOW TONER CARTRIDGE

You should replace an installed toner cartridge if any of the listed error codes appears on the LCD screen of your Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System.

 

·       [U13] or [E13] – One or more of the installed toner cartridge is/are missing, empty, or defective. You must make sure that all toner cartridges are properly installed, and then try to print. Please replace the installed toner cartridges if the error occurs again.

 

·       [U25 <Color>], [E3-33 Yellow], [E3-34 Magenta], [E3-35 Cyan], or [E3-36 Black] – The corresponding cartridge drive motor does not rotate. You should remove all toner cartridges from the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System, redistribute the toner (shake each cartridge well), and then reinstall the toner cartridges. Please replace the corresponding toner cartridges if the problem persists.

Initially, you must open the front cover of your Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System, and then unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by turning its green lever counterclockwise. After that, you must remove the exhausted toner cartridge by pulling it straight towards you, and then take the replacement toner cartridge out of the protective bag. Now, you must shake the new toner cartridge several times up and down, turn it upside down, and then shake it again. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the protective tape from the new toner cartridge, and then align the arrow label on the top of the new component with the unlock mark of the corresponding slot. Once the new toner cartridge is correctly aligned, you must insert it into the slot, and then turn its green lever clockwise until it stops. Finally, you must close the front cover of your Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System.

Initially, you must remove the corresponding developer assembly from the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System (Please refer to ‘’How to Install a Developer Assembly in the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System’’). Next, you must remove the two screws from the top side of the developer assembly, and then remove the developer cover by releasing the four latches. After that, you must turn the developer assembly over a sheet of paper, and rotate the gear counterclockwise to discharge the used developer. Now, you must shake the bottle that contains the new developer several times, and then place the developer assembly horizontally. Please make sure that the color of the developer matches the color of the developer assembly. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must open the developer bottle, and pour the new developer into the developer assembly while turning the gear in a counterclockwise direction. After that, you must reattach the developer cover, secure it with the screws, and then reinstall the developer assembly into the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System. Finally, you must perform [F8-11 Developer Count].  

The useful life of a new developer assembly is approx. 480,000 prints. This consumable component consists of a magnet roller, sleeve, and two toner augers. You can check how many pages have been printed with the installed developer assemblies from the [Maintenance Count.] menu. You should replace the installed developer assemblies if:

 

·       Print quality is unsatisfactory – You should replace the toner cartridges and the drum units, and then evaluate the quality of the printouts. Please replace the installed developer assemblies if print quality remains unsatisfactory.

 

·       The error code [U16 <Color>] is displayed – The indicated developer assembly is defective or missing. You should check the indicated component for correct installation and connection. Please replace the indicated developer assembly if the problem persists.

 

·       The error code [E3-28 Yellow/Magenta/Cyan] or [E3-29 Black] is displayed – The Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System has detected that the <color> developer motor does not function. You should replace the Motor connector, EC PCB connector, and the corresponding developer drive mechanism, and then test the machine. Please replace the indicated developer assembly if the problem persists.

Please note that the current procedure includes the replacement of the Cyan developer assembly. The replacement procedures of all developer assemblies are identical.

 

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover, and then remove the waste toner container, the Cyan toner cartridge, and the Cyan and Magenta drum units. Please cover the removed drum units with five sheets of paper or place them in a black plastic bag. Next, you must detach the inner stack cover by removing the two mounting screws, and then use a vacuum cleaner to clean the Cyan toner-supply cylinder. After that, you must remove the six screws securing the pipe cover to the main frame, and then pull the pipe cover out of the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System. Now, you must place a sheet of paper on top of the front cover, and then remove the screw from the front side of the Cyan toner hopper. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the Cyan toner hopper from the main unit, clean the toner entrance with a vacuum cleaner, and then detach the right lever arm of the front cover. Once the lever arm is detached, you must remove the two mounting screws of the WTB lower cover, remove the WTB lower cover, and then release the two harness clamps. Next, you must disconnect the developer harness, remove the three screws from the front bracket of the Cyan developer assembly, and then remove the front bracket from the main unit. After that, you must pull the Cyan developer assembly out of the Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System, and then unpack the replacement component. Now, you must install the new developer assembly by executing the current procedure in reverse order, but please leave the front cover open, and then perform [F8-09 Deve. Unit Count]. Finally, you must close the front cover of your Panasonic DP-C262 Digital Imaging System.
