LEXMARK E260DN OEM DRUM

Lexmark E260dn printer can notify you about need of Drum unit replacement when  30 000 pages are printed. It displays <DRUM UNIT LIFE WARNING> or < REPLACE DRUM UNIT> lights when it is at his last few hundred copies.  When you see the special light sequence know that you have to call your supplier and order new Drum unit.
NOTE: You may need to install a new Drum unit in Lexmark E260dn printer to correct print quality.

CAUTION: Do not expose new Drum unit to any direct sun light for a long period of time, this may cause unfixable damage to it and to your printer. Quality of printed pages may be bad.

Turn OFF your Lexmark E260dn printer.

Stand in front of the printer and push green button on the left side of the printer.

Open front cover door.

Pull toner cartridges handle to take out drum and cartridge.

Separate drum from the toner cartridge by pressing green button on the base of drum unit.

Take toner cartridge handle and tacit of drum unit.

Unpack new drum unit.
NOTE: DO NOT touch drum unit. If you do, you will leave fingerprints and this will affect printed copies.

Install toner cartridge in new Drum unit by aligning white rolls into the tracks in Drum unit.

Take back drum and cartridge assembly back into Lexmark E260dn printer by aligning arrows on drum unit with tracks in the printer.

Push assembly as far inside as it can go.

Close front cover door.

Turn <ON> your Lexmark E260dn printer.

Now you have to reset Drum unit count, so that you can print. If you don’t do that Lexmark E260dn printer’s software will think that you still use old Drum unit.

After you install new Drum unit don’t close front cover door.

Turn printer ON

PRESS BY HOLDING <STOP/CANCEL> button.

When all lights start flashing stop pressing <STOP/CANCEL> button.

Close the front cover door.

Press and hold <PLAY> button. After several seconds the printer will print out a settings page.
NOTE: If Lexmark E260dn printer doesn’t print out settings page repeat the moves you made.

If the problem persists contact your supplier for more information.

If the method above doesn’t apply to you follow below advice:

Turn OFF the printer. Open front cover door. Press and hold <PLAY> button. While pressing <PLAY> button turn printer ON. Hold the button until all lights stop cycling. Stop pressing button only when you see <READY> or <ERROR> light remain. Close front cover door.

Press and hold <PLAY> button. A settings page will be printer in several seconds.

Use that page to see drum unit count and reset it.

After you reset the drum unit count TURN OFF printer, wait little while then TURN ON printer. This action will reset Lexmark E260dn to normal mode of printing.
