E-STUDIO 281C OEM TONER CARTRIDGES SET

When the black toner needs to be replaced, a message in the LCD panel will appear. This message will appear in the upper left hand corner of the screen and read REPLACE TONER CARTRIDGE. The toner in the Toshiba E-Studio 281c will never need changing unless this message is present. Toner CAN be replaced while the machine is still powered on.

To replace the empty toner cartridge, it must first be removed from the machine. Begin this process by opening the front of the machine. You will find a recessed area located near the internal excess tray, this area can be used as a handle to open the front cover and swing it downward.

Towards the right side of the machine, a LIGHT GREEN cover will be easily visible, covering the toner cartridge. This cover can be easily unlocked and pulled open. The cartridge behind the cover can then be easily removed by pulling it straight out of the Toshiba E-Studio 281c.

While many toner cartridges must be recycled through a credited toner recycling program, the cartridge for the Toshiba E-Studio 281c can be done in this way, by returning the cartridge to a technician, or through standard recycling. Never throw an old toner cartridge in the trash.

Before installing a new toner cartridge, be sure to shake the actual cartridge several times in all directions, including up and down and side to side. This loosens and distributes the internal toner.

At one end of the cartridge, a white sheet of paper will be found with a blue arrow on it. It is important to pull this seal in the direction of the arrow and AWAY from the cartridge. The new toner can then be inserted into the machine with the colored side face up. The toner cover must now be closed, along with the front cover to the printer and, soon after, the device will be operation ready.

As with the black cartridge, a color toner outage will be represented by a REPLACE TONER CARTRIDGE message, but will also be accompanied by an indicator of color. The LCD screen will highlight either the YELLOW(Y), MAGENTA(M), or CYAN(C) box, or potentially more than one of these.

Unlike when replacing a black toner cartridge, the menu must first be accessed before attempting to replace a color unit. First the USER FUNCTIONS hard button must be pressed. This will change the display on the LCD screen.

NOTE: At this point, the empty color toner will no longer be indicated on screen, so it is important to remember the correct color.

A button sequence must first be pressed on the LCD screen. Choose the USER tab, then the GENERAL button, followed by the TONER SUPPLY button. A screen will appear allowing the user to choose which color toner is to be removed. Select the proper color.

The machine will now be heard moving the spindle inside the machine so that the correct color toner is in place. After the cartridge is in place, the front cover can be opened and the color toner found on the LEFT side of the machine in a recessed area. A locking latch will be holding it in place and can be pinched to remove the toner cartridge.

Recycle the old cartridge and replace it the same way as the black cartridge, remembering to remove the protective seal. The machine will automatically recognize the new cartridge and no more menu access is required.
