Product Description
Panasonic FP-7718 Toner Cartridge - 10,000 Pages

This Toner Cartridge prints 10000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Panasonic specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Panasonic.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the PANASONIC FP-7718 Laser Monochrome Copier?
The PANASONIC FP-7718 Laser Monochrome Copier is equipped with a built-in system for a toner cartridge monitoring. Once the monitoring system detects an abnormality in the toner cartridge status, it will notify you with a series of warning signals. The error code ‘’U13’’ will be displayed in the copy count display, when the installed toner cartridge is running out of toner. In addition to the above warning message, you will also notice that the error indicator is blinking. When the above ‘’low toner’’ warnings appears, you must remove the exhausted toner cartridge and install a new one. Otherwise, the remaining toner will be consumed very soon, which will lead to the disabling of all copy/print operations. Herein, you should always keep a spare toner cartridge in stock for your PANASONIC FP-7718 Laser Monochrome Copier.

Panasonic FP-7718 Review

Overview:

Released in the mid of 1996, Panasonic FP-7718 battled in the monochrome copier market industry bringing its reliable and cost-effective system that’s ready to aid small and midmarket establishments. Although it may seem unfit for it to be compared with today’s many advanced copiers that are even multifunctional, many of the useful features that are endured up to today are already offered and available in FP-7718. The design is fit for smaller work areas and is made to complement PCs of the yesteryears with it revamped in cream color. Quality is respectable that should justify it being a considerable workflow boost. The overall structure is coupled by several simple yet smart looking lines that just enhanced its individuality. The main body stands in its rectangular box resemblance of considerable dimensions which increases with the addition of the optional bin sorter which will be mounted at the left part.

Pros:

As a monochrome copier, it provides decent copies of vibrant tones and fine figuration that are of crisp details at a considerable speed of 18 CPM (copies per minute) for letter sizes. Zooming preferences can be done in a range between 99% to 50% in increments of 1% for reduction and 101% to 200% also in increments of 1% for enlargement. Its paper feeders can take a number of different paper sizes including ledger size (11” x 17”), legal size (8 ½“ x 14”), letter size (8 ½“ x 11”), letter R size (8 ½“ x 11”), and invoice size (5 ½“ x 8 ½“) with the ledger and invoice sizes being the maximum and minimum size capacity respectively. Exposure control is detected automatically allowing it to choose either to copy in text mode or photo mode. Multiple copying is as well available for FP-7718 enabling to 999 copies that then automatically resets to 1.

For medium-volume paper handling needs, it has a substantial paper sheet capacity standard at 300 sheets given by the 550-sheet paper drawer plus a 50-sheet bypass tray perfect for making copies onto special media types including envelopes and transparencies. To complement these paper feeders is an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and Inverting Automatic Document Feeder (iADF), both can take up to 30 sheets for legal-size and ledger-size papers and 50 sheets for invoice-size and letter-size papers. Both paper feeders come standard with FP-7718 and are very helpful for feeding originals automatically and especially the iADF which is great for multi-size feeding and duplex copying. It is significant aid from start to finish with it offering an optional 10 Bin Sorter great for sorting, stacking and stapling copies. The Bin sorter can take four different paper sizes namely letter, letter-R, legal and ledger sized originals and comes in two types, the FA-S280 and FA-S615. Both types are nearly similar only FA-S280 incapable of staple sort.

FP-7718 also is perfect for small offices as it requires only limited space to be accommodated at its dimensions of 23.9” x 26.0” x22.9” (W x D x H).

Cons:

As an old model, FP-7718 already stands out with its functionality when compared to many monochrome copier of its batch but one may consider its sister monochrome copiers that pose same capabilities that of FP-7718 but with faster copy speed and more additional helpful features. These include FP-7722 of 22 CPM, FP-7728 of 28 CPM and FP-7735 of 35 CPM which also features 20-Bin Sorter, Automatic Duplex Unit and a 3000-sheet paper cassette which is all absent in FP-7718. Mobility can be a hassle as well with the relatively heavy weight at approximately 138 lbs.

Operating system compatibility is also a hassle as by default, it is incompatible to newer operating systems including Windows XP, Vista and 7 since its compatibility are on operating systems prior to its release and so driver/s (if available, which may be found directly in the official manufacturer’s site) is/are needed to be downloaded and installed to be compatible with these operating systems.
