Product Description
Panasonic FP-D250 Toner Cartridge - 20,000 Pages

This toner cartridge prints 20000 pages with average 5% coverage (Nearly all Printer manufacturers base their ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% page coverage).

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Panasonic FP-D250 Review

Overview:

FP-D250 is a monochrome copier and printer introduced in early 1999 by Panasonic in response to the increasing needs of multifaceted business establishments. From the FP series of monochrome copiers released earlier in 1996, Panasonic took a step up and battled in the market with their FP-D250 that delivers crystal clear copy and print outputs that should justify it being a considerable workflow boost. It stands in its clean white appearance of rectangular box resemblance that seems to get even bigger with the addition of finishers and optional paper feeders mounted side by side of the main body. It is styled with simple lines smartly outlined that add up in heightening its distinctiveness. With its speed, flexibility and reliability, FP-D250 is a great choice for small to medium-sized establishments looking for document processing aid.

Pros:

Leave the worries of large paper handling needs as the copy and print system is made reliable to handle it all boasting a maximum duty cycle of 80,000 copies and prints per month. This performance is associated by a substantial paper sheet capacity standard at 1,150 paper sheets given by the dual 550-sheet paper tray and a 50-sheet bypass tray perfect for handling special media types including transparencies and envelopes. If this still sounds insufficient, the standard 1,150 paper sheet is expandable for up to 5,800 paper sheets. The paper feeders also support paper sizes that come between 4” x 6” to 11” x 17” or documents that’s in between invoice size to ledger size. An Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and Inverting Automatic Document Feeder (iADF) is as well offered to complement these feeders.

Digital copies are of superb quality justified by the integrated Digital Quantum technology and the standard resolution of 600 x 600 DPI with 256 gray scale levels. First copy out time is excellent at 3.9 seconds with an impressive 28 CPM (copies per minute) copy speed. It gives a flexible option for reduction and enlargement as zooming can be done 50% to 200% in increments of 1% in an exposure control which can be set in text mode, photo mode or text/photo mode. Multiple copying is as well available for FP-7718 enabling to 999 copies that then automatically resets to 1. For better performance, standard copy memory at 8 MB can be upgraded to a maximum 40 MB or better yet increase the capacity farther to 500 MB with the insertion of optional copy memory HDD.

Printing is as excellent as copying also at 28 PPM (pages per minute) handled under 600 x 600 DPI and 1200 x 1200 DPI with smoothing technology. For network connectivity, an IEEE-1284 bi-directional parallel and Ethernet interface is available.

With the dimensions of 23.9” x 29.9” x 24.2” (W x D x H), FP-D250 is generally manageable and should complement small offices of space-limited work environment.

Cons:

Although the size isn’t as ridiculous, the weight still is relatively heavy for easy mobility at approximately 167 lbs. Also operating system compatibility is a hassle as by default, it is incompatible to newer operating systems including Windows XP, Vista and 7 since its compatibility are on operating systems prior to its release and so driver/s (if available, which may be found directly in the official manufacturer’s site) is/are needed to be downloaded and installed to be compatible with these operating systems.
