COLOR LASERJET 2600N 2PACK OF BLACK TONER CARTRIDGES

Un-installation of a print cartridge is required when the cartridge has run nearly dry or completely dry. The printer itself will notify you when it is time to remove the cartridge by displaying a message either that it is time to order a replacement cartridge or that the current cartridge is at the end of its life. The different colors will be indicated in the messages which are REPLACE YELLOW CARTRIDGE, REPLACE MAGENTA CARTRIDGE, REPLACE CYAN CARTRIDGE, and REPLACE BLACK CARTRIDGE.

The printer must be turned OFF before removal of the cartridge. Open the front door of the unit to reveal the cartridges beneath, then simply pull out the correct color cartridge from the machine. New cartridges will come in plastic bags perfect for storing used cartridges for recycling.

Open the bag and remove the new cartridge, then shake the cartridge and rock in a circular motion while holding it by its sides, being careful not to touch the shutter or roller as this could damage the new cartridge. Pull out ORANGE shipping material from the cartridge and remove the shipping tape. These waste items are recyclable.

Carefully line up the new cartridge with the groves inside the printer and slide it into place, making sure it is seated firmly in the machine. Close the front door and turn on the printer. After a brief warm up period, the device should display a READY message the printer will become operational.
 

If the user believes that the cartridge replacement message appearing on the HP Laserjet 2600n’s screen is in error, it is possible to test this by running a cartridge out override sequence. Keep in mind that it is almost always best to simply replace the printer cartridge when the replacement message appears. Using the override feature almost always results in reduced print quality, but is occasionally a useful tool to take advantage of when a new cartridge has not arrived in the mail yet.

Using the cartridge out override feature may affect the user’s warranty.

To enable the override, access the printers control panel and use the following sequence:

1) When at the main menu, press the RIGHT ARROW.
2) When SYSTEM SETUP appears, press SELECT.
3) Use the RIGHT ARROW to select PRINT QUALITY.
4) Use the RIGHT ARROW to select REPLACE SUPPLIES.
5) Use the RIGHT ARROW to select OVERRIDE OUT.
6) Press SELECT.

If the 3rd paper tray option is purchased for the HP Laserjet 2600n, it must be manually installed by the user. The process for install is very simple but it is important that the power switch on the machine is turned OFF before beginning. The off position is represented by the open O on the switch. Users should also unplug the power cable as well to further reduce risk of damage to the device.

Place the tray on a firm, flat surface and carefully lift the device by its hand dimples. Align the holes in the printer with the pegs on the tray and slowly lower it into place. Be careful not to pinch fingers and be sure that the tray snaps firmly into place. Power can now be restored to the machine.
