HP COLOR LASERJET 3700 FUSER FILM SLEEVE

The fuser kit contains a fuser unit and a Tray 2 pickup roller. The useful life of these two components is approx. 75,000 pages. You can print a supplies status page by selecting [MENUS] – [Information] – [PRINT SUPPLIES STATUS PAGE], in order to obtain information about the installed printer components (including the fuser and the Tray 2 pickup roller). You should install a new fuser kit in the following circumstances:

The fuser unit is properly installed and firmly seated, but the following message [50.X FUSER ERROR] is displayed – The HP Color LaserJet 3700n Printer has detected a critical hardware error with a component of the installed fuser unit. You should try to solve the problem by turning the laser printer off, and then back on. Please install a new fuser kit if the hardware error persists.

[INSTALL FUSER] – The laser printer does not detect an installed fuser unit. You must make sure that the fuser unit is installed properly. Please install a new fuser kit if the message is still displayed on the LCD screen.

[ORDER FUSER KIT] – The installed fuser unit and Tray 2 pickup roller are near the end of their useful life. You should purchase a new fuser kit soon.

[REPLACE FUSER KIT] – The components of the installed fuser kit have been exhausted. Please install a new fuser kit.

Replacing the Fuser Unit

You must turn the HP Color LaserJet 3700n Printer off, and then open the rear output bin (lower rear door). Please wait 10 minutes before proceeding with the next step. Next, you must open the extension of the rear output bin, and then remove the rear output bin by pulling it towards you while pressing the tab on the left side. After that, you must unlock the used fuser unit by pulling the two blue latches up, and then remove the used fuser unit by pulling it towards you. Now, you must take the new fuser unit out of the plastic bag, and then insert the new component into the HP Color LaserJet 3700n Printer. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must push the blue fuser latches towards the main unit until the new component clicks into place, and then rotate the two green levers up as far as they will go. Once the new fuser unit is installed, you must reattach the rear output bin to the main unit, close the extension, and then close the rear output bin. Please proceed with the replacement of Tray 2 pickup roller.


Replacing Tray 2 Pickup Roller

Initially, you must make sure that the HP Color LaserJet 3700n Printer is still turned off, and then remove Tray 2 from the main unit. After that, you must push the blue side of the pickup roller to release the peg from the right hole, and then remove the used pickup roller by pulling it down. Now, you must unpack the new pickup roller, and then insert the left peg of the new component into the round hole in the main unit. In the next step, you must push the new pickup roller towards the slot until it clicks into place, and then rotate the blue side of the pickup roller until you hear a click. Once the new pickup roller is installed, you must insert Tray 2 back into the laser printer, and then reset the fuser count by executing the short procedure included below.

Reset the Fuser Count

1. Turn the HP Color LaserJet 3700n Printer on
2. Enter the MENUS by pressing the [Menu] button
3. Select [Configure Device] – [RESETS] – [RESET SUPPLIES] – [NEW FUSER KIT] – [YES]
