COLOR LASERJET 4650 IMAGE TRANSFER KIT

The image transfer kit installed in your HP Color LaserJet 4650 Printer is a consumable. The main function of this consumable component is to transport the media inside the laser printer and to transfer the toner from the installed cartridges onto the paper. You can check the percentage of remaining print resource of the installed image transfer kit at any time by printing a supplies status page from the ‘’Information’’ menu of the control panel.
The highly sophisticated built-in system of your HP Color LaserJet 4650 Printer is constantly monitoring the status of the installed image transfer kit. The system will display one of the listed and described warning messages on the control panel, if an image transfer related abnormality occurs.

• ‘’59.XY PRINTER ERROR’’ – The most common cause of this issue is an incorrect installation of the image transfer kit. Therefore, you must make sure that the image transfer kit is correctly installed, and then restart the laser printer. You must install a new image transfer kit, if the error message is displayed after the correct reinstallation.

• ‘’ORDER TRANSFER KIT <> LESS THAN XXX PAGES’’ – The installed image transfer kit is near the end of its useful life. You should install a new image transfer kit soon after the initial appearance of this message on the control panel LCD, in order to be avoided print quality issues, paper jams, or/and critical hardware errors.

• ‘’REPLACE TRANSFER KIT’’ – Your HP Color LaserJet 4650 Printer is in a non-operational mode caused by a completely exhausted image transfer kit. A new image transfer kit must be installed, in order the normal functionality of your laser printer to be restored.

Please note that you should replace the installed image transfer kit, if any of the listed print quality issues is reappearing: wrinkles, curl, creases, tears, or/and off-center/skewed/stretched page. The complete replacement procedure is available below.

You must turn off your HP Color LaserJet 4650 Printer, and wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser unit to cool down. Then, you must open the top cover of the laser printer. After that, you must open the front cover, and then remove the used transfer unit by pushing its blue buttons while carefully sliding the exhausted component out of the laser printer. Now, you must unpack the new transfer unit, and then align it with the slot. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the new transfer unit into the slot until it clicks into place, and then push the new component towards the front cover. Once you have installed the new transfer unit, you must close the front cover, and then close the top cover. Finally, you must turn the laser printer on, and select ‘’YES’’ when the following message ‘’NEW TRANSFER KIT’’ appears on the front-panel display.
