HP Color LaserJet CM2320n Review
The HP Color LaserJet CM2320n MFP is a provider of enhanced productivity for work-groups of all shapes and sizes. It prints professional-quality documents robustly and communicates within a network efficiently. This MFP is a printer, scanner, and copier rolled into one competent device. The printer's size of 19.6 inches wide, 19.4 inches deep, 21.7 inches tall, and a weight of 64.8 pounds; the printer should have no problem sitting atop sturdy table or desktop.
The CM2320n series utilize a print and copy resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch in both, Color and Black & White. The printer and copier components can dish-out documents at a rate of 21 pages per minute in based on Letter-documents. Start-up time is relatively fast at 17.8 seconds for the first print or copy.
The copier component has a plethora of features suitable for hectic business environments. Users can set the copier to copy up to 99 pages without intervention. If users scan a document, they can print many, though it is unclear how many. Copy selection enables optimization with presets like text, photograph, printed picture, mixed, and auto-select. Users can fit-to-page or add 2-4 pages and convert them to a single page. Before copying, users can adjust the contrast and resolution.
The scanner utilizes LED illumination to capture high-quality images. Books, and the like are considered 3-D and when a user scans the booklet; there can be a visible gutter shadow where the binds meet. The high-depth CCD scanner will automatically work to reduce this black-line gutter shadow. Managers can set the printer to utilize color upon the submission of a password. This helps offset the workers utilizing color when they are not supposed to be using color for work-related and unrelated prints.
The MFP runs on 160 Mega Bytes of memory, of which, is upgradable to 416 Mega Bytes. The 450 MHz processor is enables the MFP to dish-out 40,000 pages per month, if needed; the recommended volume is between 1,000-2,500 pages. At least the printer has the capacity to run smoothly and accommodate peak times.
The paper management consists of a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder, optional 250-sheet tray, mandatory 250-sheet tray, and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. The output tray can hold a maximum of 150-sheets. When the output lands on the output-tray, they documents are face-down. Face-down output eradicates the need to take all the output and flip them over one-by-one to sort them in chronological order.
The network interface is made up of a built-in Fast Ethernet and a Hi-Speed USB port. Languages supported in the CM2320n are PostScript 3 emulation, PCL 6, and PCL5c that supports 80 TrueType (internal scalable) PostScript. Windows operating systems, older and modern, are consistent with the MFP. Mac users find solace in compatibility.
In comparison of the HP Color LaserJet CM2320n and the HP Color LaserJet CM2320fxi; the HP Color LaserJet CM2320n lacks photo memory card slots, automatic duplex printing, color graphical display, and fax. Organizations who are needing a highly-functional MFP with less intervention would be better served with the HP Color LaserJet CM2320fxi. The third input tray that holds 250-sheets is optional and not mandatory. The HP Color LaserJet CM2320n cannot operate without the use of a PC, but the HP Color LaserJet CM2320fxi can.
