The HP LaserJet 5P is an outstanding printer designed for the home office. Output quality is outstanding. Toner cartridges are easy to replace and last a long time.

Pros:

For home owners looking for a printer that offers high volume printing, the HP LaserJet 5P is an outstanding choice. It has a monthly duty cycle of 12,000 pages, which should be able to accommodate quite a few users in a small office environment. It doesn’t come with a USB connection. However one can be added with the use of an adapter. If you want to share it across a network, you will want to upgrade its memory. The memory can be upgraded to 50MB.

Its paper capacity is excellent considering the price of the HP LaserJet 5P. It can hold 350 sheets, divided among two trays. The HP LaserJet 5P can support many media types including labels, card stock, plain paper, and transparencies.

Toner cartridges are affordable and yield up to 4,000 pages. As a result you won’t have to replace the cartridges that often. Print quality is outstanding. Text is sharp and easy to read at four point fonts. There are no signs of feathering.

Cons:

The major drawback of the LaserJet 5P is that it only produces six pages per minute. Furthermore it lacks color printing.
