This Toner Cartridge prints 4000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard HP specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by HP.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the HP LaserJet 6P Printer?

The lifespan of the toner cartridge installed in your HP LaserJet 6P Printer depends upon various factors, such as the average percentage of page coverage, the chosen print density level, the average number of printed pages per job/task, etc… You could increase the cartridge lifespan by turning on the ‘’HP EconoMode’’, which creates draft quality prints by reducing the amount of used toner.
The installed toner cartridge must be replaced, when any of the listed below signals and print quality issues appears.

• Vertical fade, vertical lines, background shade, or/and vertical repetitive defects – These issues are indicating nearly exhausted or damaged toner cartridge. You must install a new toner cartridge in your HP LaserJet 6P Printer.

• The third LED on the control panel is on/lit – The toner cartridge is missing, or it is incorrectly installed. You must make sure that the toner cartridge is fully inserted into the slot. A new toner cartridge must be installed, if the issue persists.

• Blank or incomplete printing – Please make sure that the sealing tape have been removed during the installation of the toner cartridge. A new toner cartridge must be installed, if the issue is still appearing afterwards.

You should always keep a spare toner cartridge for your HP LaserJet 6P Printer in stock, but please store this consumable component in a dark room, at temperatures between -4degreesF to 104degreesF/-20 to 40degreesC. Please avoid unpacking the new toner cartridge until you are ready to use it. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the HP LaserJet 6P Printer

You must start the installation by opening the top cover of your HP LaserJet 6P Printer. Then, you must remove the exhausted toner cartridge by slowly pulling it out of the main compartment. After that, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the protective packaging, and then loosen and redistribute the toner by shaking the new component several times from side to side. Now, you must completely pull the clear plastic sealing tape out of the right side of the new toner cartridge. Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must insert it into the slot, but please make sure that the arrow stamped on the new toner cartridge is pointing towards the inside of the laser printer. Finally, you must close the top cover of your HP LaserJet 6P Printer.

Overview:

The HP LaserJet 6P, 6Pse, 6Pxi, and 6MP series printers are extremely professional and have a lot to offer. With this series of printers you get a 24-MHz processor, 600 x 600 dpi printing with Resolution Enhancement technology (REt), enhanced business graphics and images with 128 levels of gray, and the HP PCL 6 printer language.
With this printer you get 110 TrueType fonts. The HP LaserJet 6MP series printer also has 35 built-in PostScript language fonts. The HP LaserJet 6P, 6Pse, and 6Pxi series printers come with 2 MB RAM of memory and the HP LaserJet 6MP series printer has 3 MB RAM.
The HP LaserJet 6P, 6Pse, 6Pxi, and 6MP series printers offers two tray types with a capacity in tray 1 of 100 sheets and a capacity in tray 2 of 250 sheets. These printers can handle a wide range of paper sizes.

Pros:

The HP LaserJet 6P series is affordable. Despite being obsolete it is reliable and will outlive the newest printers on the market. It may not dazzle you, but the LaserJet 6P series of printers gets the job done time and again.

Cons:

This series of printers only prints around 8 pages per minute which isn’t very good results when considering the price of the printer. This printer really falls behind today’s printers that are capable of printing 20-50 sheets per minute.
Many offices go through a ream of paper every day. So the fact that this printer can only handle 350 sheets of paper at a time is a major drawback. Add to the fact that this printer is so slow, it basically isn’t of much use to modern offices.

It is also inferior to other printers on the market since it only offers 600 by 600 dpi resolution, which is well below the average of contemporary printers' resolutions of 1200 by 1200 dpi for both grayscale and color documents.

Many printers on the market today don’t support the 6P and as a result it is not the best choice for your network.
