When do I Replace a Fuser Maintenance Kit in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer?
You should replace the Fuser Maintenance Kit approx. every 350000 pages/prints, in order to be maintained optimal print quality. The fuser maintenance kit contains one transfer roller assembly, one fuser assembly, and new rollers (separation, pickup, etc…). The built-in system of your HP LaserJet 9050 Printer is constantly monitoring the condition of these components. It will display the following warning message ‘’PERFORM PRINTER MAINTENANCE’’ on the control panel LCD, when the installed fuser maintenance kit reaches near the end of its useful life. You should install a new fuser maintenance kit soon after the initial appearance of the warning message on the control panel display. Please make sure that the purchased fuser maintenance kit matches the operational voltage of your laser printer (110V or 220V), in order to be avoided critical hardware errors and damages. The complete replacement procedure is included below.
How to Install a Fuser Maintenance Kit in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer
The current technical manual includes the complete replacement procedures for all components of the new fuser maintenance kit.
Installation of a new Fuser Assembly in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer
You must turn the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer off and unplug its power cord. Please note that you should wait at least 30 minutes before proceeding with the next step, if you have used your laser printer recently, in order the installed fuser assembly to cool down. Then, you must open the left side door of your LaserJet 9050, and remove the duplexer (if available/installed) from the main unit. After that, you must push each of the two blue levers of the installed fuser assembly towards the center of the compartment, and then pull the used fuser assembly towards you until it stops. Now, you must slightly tilt the used fuser assembly towards you, and then take it out of the laser printer using its blue strap handle. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must unpack the new fuser assembly, and then slide it into the laser printer until it is fully inserted. At this stage, you must secure the new fuser assembly by pushing the two blue levers back to their original positions. In the final step of the fuser assembly installation, you must attach the duplexer (if available) back to the main unit, and then close the left side door.
Installation of a new Transfer Roller in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer
You must start the installation by opening the front cover of your HP LaserJet 9050 Printer. Then, you must rotate the large green lever downward until it stops. After that, you must press and hold the blue release tab of the installed transfer roller assembly, and remove the assembly by slowly pulling it towards you. Now, you must remove the black plastic cover from the used transfer roller, and then detach the hooks from the metal plate. In the next step of the installation, you must pry both ends of the used transfer roller loose from the metal plate assembly, and then unpack the new transfer roller. Please avoid touching the black surface of the new transfer roller. Once the new transfer roller is unpacked, you must attach it to the metal plate, and then lock the new component into the corresponding clasps on the black plastic cover. Finally, you must slide the new transfer roller firmly into the laser printer, and then rotate the large green lever upward until it locks into place.
Installation of the new Pickup and Separation Rollers in the HP LaserJet 9050 Printer
In the first step of the installation, you must remove the paper tray (Tray 2) from the laser printer by slightly lifting it up while pulling the tray towards you. Please note that you can use the same replacement procedure for any additional paper trays (Tray 3, Tray 4). Once the paper tray is out of the main unit, you must remove the three rollers (located into the printer/paper tray cavity) by sliding each of the installed rollers off the shaft while pressing its light blue tab. After that, you must unpack the new rollers, and then slide each of them onto the corresponding shaft until it clicks into place. Finally, you must reinstall the paper tray.
