You can check the toner cartridge status by printing a supplies status page. This feature can be selected from the [Information] menu of the control panel.
The HP LaserJet P4015n Laser Printer is equipped with a control panel LCD. The built-in monitoring system of the laser printer displays appropriate warning messages on the control panel LCD when your attention is required. One of the listed messages will be displayed on the control panel LCD if the built-in monitoring system detects a problem with the installed toner cartridge. Please follow the instructions provided after each of the listed messages.
[10.94.YY REMOVE SHIPPING LOCKS FROM CARTRIDGE
] – You have installed a new toner cartridge without removing all shipping locks. Printing is not possible in this situation. Please reinstall the toner cartridge correctly.
[10.XX.YY00 SUPPLY MEMORY ERROR] – A toner cartridge error has been detected. You should try to solve the problem by turning off the laser printer, reinstalling the toner cartridge, and then turning the machine back on. You will have to install a new toner cartridge if the error message is still displayed on the control LCD.
[INSTALL BLACK CARTRIDGE] – Please note that the HP LaserJet P4015n Laser Printer is equipped with only one toner cartridge (Black). The color of the toner cartridge is displayed because your monochrome laser printer uses the same firmware as some color HP products. This error message indicates that the built-in system of the laser printer does not detect the toner cartridge. You must make sure that the toner cartridge is installed properly (Please refer to the installation instructions provided further below). The installed toner cartridge should be replaced if the correct reinstallation does not help.
[NON HP SUPPLY INSTALLED] – You have installed a compatible non-OEM product. Usually, the non-OEM products offer the same quality as the genuine/OEM ones, but at lower prices. Quikship offers 6 months' product replacement warranty for all non-OEM toner cartridges. You should simply press the [OK] button if the [NON HP SUPPLY INSTALLED] message appears after the installation of a new non-OEM toner cartridge.
[REPLACE BLACK CARTRIDGE] – The installed toner cartridge is empty. You must install a new toner cartridge. Please be aware that printing will not continue until the new toner cartridge is installed.
[REPLACE BLACK CARTRIDGE <> To continue press OK] – The built-in monitoring system of your HP LaserJet P4015n Laser Printer has detected a low toner level. Please note that you can resume printing by pressing the [OK] button. You should install a new toner cartridge soon in order to be ensured the continuous operation of your laser printer.
Please note that not all abnormalities can be detected by the built-in monitoring system. You should replace the installed toner cartridge if print quality is unsatisfactory. The complete replacement procedure is included below.
