Konica 7022 Review
The Konica 7022 is a versatile multifunction printer offered by Konica to provide for the needs of small offices and businesses. With its available features and affordability, the Konica 7022 allows users to maximize their work with utmost quality and efficiency, while its user-friendly interface ensures that the Konica 7022 is one of the most easily accessible multifunction machines around.
For its print function, the Konica 7022 boasts speeds of up to 22 pages per minute, which is also approximately the same rate as its copying feature. This speed applies for paper measuring 8.5 x 11 inches, while for papers measuring 11 x 17 inches, speeds can register up to 14 ppm. First copy results are also pretty fast, as fast as 4.8 seconds. For its warm up time, the Konica 7022 gets ready as fast as 30 seconds, quite a quick time to be ready for a multifunction printer. The copy resolution for the Konica 7022 has a standard 600 x 600 dots per inch, with a standard memory of 32 MB to support the Konica 7022’s speeds and resolution. Its memory is also upgradable up to 288 MB, which enables the Konica 7022 not only to sustain its speed and quality on output resolution, but also to allow this multifunction device to work seamlessly through complex and customized tasks.
Other copying features for the Konica 7022 include reduction and enlargement options from 25% to 400% and an impressive continuous copying from 1 to 999 copies. Most printers, multifunction ones included, are only up to 99 copies for continuous copying, making the Konica 7022 a really high-performing machine.
For its scanning, the Konica 7022 features options such as Scan to email, scan to FTP and scan to hard drive for a more flexible array of choices for users. It also has a “scan once, print many” technology, which allows for faster scanning tasks. Scanning speed is also at 22 ppm, with 64 MB memory that can be upgraded to 128 MB.
Faxing with the Konica 7022 features a 33.6 Kbps Super G3 modem, which is standard for fast transmissions speeds. It has a memory of 2 MB, standard for and only for its fax option, but it can also be upgraded up to 16 MB which would allow faster and more effective transmission of fax messages. It also has a one touch option that can hold up to 40 tasks, also 40 for group and 400 for its total keys. The Konica 7022 also has optional support for Internet fax and dual line faxing, making its faxing feature much more flexible compared to other multifunction printers in the market today.
For its paper handling, the Konica 7022 has an impressive set of trays to handle moderate to high volume document production, with two standard input trays with 500 sheets each and a multi-bypass tray that has a capacity to hold 50 sheets. The Konica 7022 also includes a set of finisher trays with a total of 1,100-sheet capacity. Optional finishers can also be added, bringing the Konica 7022’s total up to 2,550 sheets. Supported paper weights are at 16 lbs. on a minimum and up to 32 lbs. for its maximum weight support. The Konica 7022 also has an automatic duplex capability for double sided printing.
The Konica 7022 also has touch screen menu display control panel, allowing easy access for users to navigate through copy tasks and print jobs, including complex driver applications such as stamping and watermarking.
For all its features, the biggest downside on the Konica 7022 is its size. While it is built for smaller offices, it is quite hefty considering its weight and dimensions, registering 161 lbs and 23.3 x 23.43 x 28.74 inches, respectively. This makes the Konica 7022 hard to move around the office and a bit space-consuming.
