When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Kyocera Mita FS-3830N Laser Printer?

You can check the status of the installed toner cartridge by printing a Status Page. To print a Status Page, you must press the [MENU] key, and then select [Print Status Page]. The installed toner cartridge should be replaced in the following circumstances:

Printouts are blank

Black or white vertical streaks appear

Faint or blurred printouts

Background is grey

The message [Replace toner <> Clean printer] is displayed – The installed toner cartridge is empty. You must install a new toner cartridge to be able to continue printing.

The message [Toner Low] is displayed – The Kyocera Mita FS-3830N Laser Printer has detected that the installed toner cartridge is nearly empty. You should install a new toner cartridge soon.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Kyocera Mita FS-3830N Laser Printer

Initially, you must open the top cover of your Kyocera Mita FS-3830N Laser Printer, and then slide the cartridge-release lever to the right. Next, you must pull the used toner cartridge out of the laser printer, and then take the replacement component out of the plastic bag. After that, you must loosen the toner by shaking the new cartridge 10-15 times up and down, and then remove the protective seal from the new component. Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must slide it into the slot until it locks into place, and then close the top cover of your Kyocera Mita FS-3830N Laser Printer. Now, you must open the left cover, and then clean the charger wire by pulling the cleaning knob in and out several times. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the cleaning knob into the printer, and then remove the cap from the grid cleaner. After that, you must pull the charger unit approximately 2 inches towards you, and then attach the grid cleaner. Next, you must slide the charger unit several times in and out, and then remove the grid cleaner. At this stage of the replacement procedure, you must slide the charger unit into the laser printer as far as it will go, and then close the left cover. Finally, you must press the [MENU] key, and then reset the toner counter by selecting [Life Counters] – [New Toner Installed].
