Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Toner Cartridge - 15,000 Pages
  OVER 50

Price:  $38.89
Product Description
Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Toner Cartridge - 15,000 Pages

This toner cartridge prints 15000 pages with average 5% coverage (Nearly all Printer manufacturers base their ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% page coverage).

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Kyocera Mita.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Product Manuals
When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer?
The lifespan of the toner cartridge installed in your Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer is 15,000 pages at 5% coverage. The laser printer will display one of the listed messages if it detects a toner cartridge related abnormality.

[Set toner container] – You must make sure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly. Please install a new toner cartridge if the message continues to be displayed after the reinstallation.

[Ready to copy <> Add toner] – The Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer can print only one page at a time because the toner level is too low. You should install a new toner cartridge in order to improve the printing performance and to avoid print quality problems.

[Unable to copy <> Please Add Toner] or [Cannot copy <> Add toner, resume copying] – The installed toner cartridge is empty. You must replace the installed toner cartridge with a new one.

[Check the Toner Container] – The Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer has detected a toner cartridge error. You should try to solve the problem by redistributing the toner. Please replace the installed toner cartridge if the problem persists.
How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer
In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover of your Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer, and then remove the waste toner container by pulling it carefully towards you while pushing the holder to the left. Next, you must detach the cap from the center of the old waste toner container, and then use it to seal the opening of the exhausted component. After that, you must turn the toner cartridge release-lever to the left, and then pull the exhausted toner cartridge out of the laser printer. Now, you must slide the charger-cleaning rod several times along its channel/slot, and then return it to its original position. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must push the electrical charge section to the right, pull it approximately 2 inches towards you, and then attach the grid cleaner to the main unit. Once the grid cleaner is attached, you must hold it into place with your left hand, and slide the electrical charge section several times along the channel. At this stage of the procedure, you must remove the grid cleaner from the main unit, and then return the electrical charge section back to its original position. Next, you must shake the new toner cartridge 6-7 times up and down, and then insert the included knob into the middle white gear of the drive section located at the back of the new component. After that, you must turn the attached knob 3-4 revolutions in a clockwise direction, and then remove it from the new toner cartridge. Once the new toner cartridge is prepared, you must insert it into the laser printer, and then turn its release lever to the right. Finally, you must install the new waste toner container, and then close the front cover of your Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Laser Printer.

Kyocera Mita KM-2550 Review

With the advantage of Kyocera’s multifunction system, Kyocera Mita KM-2550 multifunction device is ideal for small offices that demand reliability and low-cost maintenance apart from faster document delivery. KM-2550 is a significant boost to the productivity of your office thanks to its high performance loaded with a wide range of flexibility options. KM-2550 is generally a rectangular box in beige color that’s been broken up by dark gray color styled in some portions of it. The box resemblance is relieved by a small rectangular hole at the front which is just right below the top panel. Right next to that hole is then distinct highlights which are the buttons for controls including the three larger ones in green, orange and yellow color and an LCD display all place in a dark gray colored panel. Its structure and look should fit any work area and considerably be pleasing to anyone in the working team.

Printing jobs of large paper volume needs is not a problem with its amazingly large paper sheet capacity that’s standard at 650 sheets given by two 300-sheet paper drawer and a 50-sheet Multipurpose tray best for handling printing on transparencies, envelopes or other specialty papers. If this is still insufficient, 650 paper sheet capacity is expandable for up to a maximum paper capacity of 1250 paper sheets through an additional two 300-sheet paper tray. Not only that it’s a great help in handling large paper volume needs but with its reversing automatic document feeder, it saves a considerable amount of time in manually flipping a paper when printing and copying is needed to both sides of paper. If large amount of papers are needed for a double-sided print or copy output, this feature by KM-2550 certainly is very time-saving and time spent for that work can then be lent to other things thus boosting productivity. And engine speed is excellent at 25 PPM (pages per minute) for A4 size and 13 PPM for A3 size with both first copy out and first print out time of less than 4.9 seconds and warm-up time of less than 20 seconds. This speed is associated with a resolution of 600 x 600 DPI for scan and copy functions and fast 1200 DPI which can be enhanced up to 2400 DPI with KIR2 ( Kyocera Image Refinement) for print function.

A large paper sheet capacity would be meaningless if incorporated in a printing engine that can only accept light printing jobs, but with KM-2550, abusive printing needs are manageable with its 40,000 pages per month of maximum duty cycle and durable life-long drum unit. The 300 MHz PowerPC 750CX processor and expandable 64MB standard printer memory justifies its speedy printing operations. It as well provides various emulation support such as in PCL 6, PCL 5e, KPDL3 with AES, Line printer, IBM Proprinter X24E, Epson LQ-850, Diablo 630, KC-GL and PDF direct print.

Efficiency is better enhanced with the continuous copying for up to 999 in its copy function. This efficiency is further ensured by its functionality including zoom range of 25-200% and image adjustments to text, photo or both all delivered by the memory capacity of standard 64MB.

Scan and fax functions of KM-2550 is as well worth noting. At a scanning speed of 25 originals per minute, scan-to-PC, scan-to-email or network TWAIN is fulfilled. The fax function is compatible with ITU-T Super G3 at a relatively impressive transmission speed of less than 3 seconds and a, modem speed of 33.6 kbps.

Administration is made easy with the KM-net Viewer that’s compatible with all Kyocera printers and multifunction device as well as other vendors. This advanced network management software tool allows visual checking and amendment of all printers on the network from any Windows PC.

As with any Kyocera Mita KM multifunction device, KM-2550 is ridiculously large at 547 mm W x 593 mm D x 607 mm H dimensions and 47 kg weight which means mobility is nearly impossible. Operating system compatibility is also a hassle as by default, it is incompatible to newer operating systems namely Windows Vista and 7 since its compatibility are on operating systems prior to its release or in the case of Windows OS, its compatibility is only until Windows XP and so driver/s (if available, which may be found directly in the official manufacturer’s site) is/are needed to be downloaded and installed to be compatible with these newer operating systems.
