HP Color LaserJet CM3530mfp Review
The HP Color LaserJet CM3530MFP increases productivity with reduced costs of printing and imaging. It is a high-performance MFP capable of dishing out documents in any form, quickly and efficiently. The printer is a reliable copier, scanner, printer, and digital MFP. This networkable device facilitates easy removal and replacement of ink cartridges. It has various management tools to enhance business productivity while reducing overhead. The printer is 20.3 inches wide, 20.4 inches deep, 22.1 inches tall, and weighs 95 pounds; its dirty-white, black-trim design will fit on a sturdy desktop or table anywhere in the building. This is the go-to device for in-house professional document creation. The printer is quite universal in accommodating various business practices.
The printing and copy speed lies at roughly 31 pages per minute in any format. With relatively fast start-up times at 11 seconds for the first print, business will resume without hassle. The rate of prints and copies are determined by the system configuration, document and driver complexity, and software application. The MFP utilizes HP ImageREt 3600 technology in imagery tasks. In lieu of the HP ImageREt 3600 technology, the printer has a resolution of 1200 x 600 dots per inch, a copy resolution of up to 600 x 600 dots per inch, a scanning resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch (600 x 300 dots per inch via Automatic Document Feeder), a fax resolution of 300 x 300 dots per inch, and the fax receives at a resolution of 400 x 400 dots per inch. The printer facilitates a 515 MHz processor and a standard 512 Mega Bytes of memory. If needed, consumers can upgrade the memory to 1 Giga Byte. An embedded hard disk is also incorporated with the MFP. The copier component utilizes a vast array of useful features that promote productivity, expenditure, and flexibility in the workplace. It can print up to 999 multiple copies without intervention in-between. Documents can be reduced or enlarged from 25%-400%. Duplex printing is available in copy mode. Duplex printing is the process of printing on both sides of the paper and can be used for a variety of reasons appropriate to unique situations. Along with scalability, adjustments can be made to the copy prior to copying. You can increase/decrease Darkness, cleanup the background, and sharpen images/texts. The N-up or Z-ordering helps with the creation of documents in the format resembling school books. The N-up feature can save money and reduce waste when two pages are copied on one sheet-side; along with duplexing, this feature is eco-friendly. Faxing is optional on this particular model. If users opt for the fax-component, it should transmit data up to 33.6 Kilo Bits Per Second. Common features for the fax are a speed dial capable of 100 lists, auto-redialing, junk barrier, Windows® Fax, broadcast up to 100 locations, retrieval of faxes by remote with fax polling, and auto-fax reduction. If by, per chance, consumers get this model, they would have to purchase the HP LaserJet Analog Fax Accessory 500. The flatbed scanner utilizes an Automatic Document Feeder. When users input a document, the machine lights up with its instant-on LED illumination. The scan-quality is dynamic. Maximum document sizes utilizable is 8.5 x 14 inches. The scan input modes work in lieu of the copy, fax, email, a folder features. The files can be converted to PDF, MTIFF, TIFF, and JPG. This is great for digital artists who need to make adjustments not supported by the MFP itself. The MFP supports various digital tasks like Send to Printer, Digital Fax (LAN, Internet, Windows 2000), Scan-to-Email, Send-To-Network-Folder, and common file formats. Some of the features rely on HP Digital Sending Software if the end-user does not have other applications to support digital tasks. The paper management consists of a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder and three trays. Tray 1 is a 100-sheet multipurpose. Tray 2 has a capacity of 250-sheets. Tray three is optional and holds up to 500 sheets. Its monthly duty cycle is a generous 75,000 pages, but its recommended monthly print-volume is between 2000-6000 pages. HP recommends this volume to ensure that the MFP's performance, integrity, reliability, and quality are preserved. All-in-all, operating with the recommended print-volume ensures the printer is not overworked; thus, reducing the breakdown of the MFP. The network configuration is made up of an interface consisting of an FIH port, embedded Ethernet server, USB Hi-Speed port, external USB host port, and open EIO slot.
While the MFP is ENERGY STAR qualified; printing, copying, ready, sleep, and off modes consume a large amount of watts compared to other printers. So, unless the benefits can justify the large consumption of watts, then it's okay. The USB cable is not included with the purchase; you have to buy your own. There is not so much as cons to the printer, but a lack of utilizing obvious improvements, like a higher dots per inch resolution. |
