HP Color LaserJet CP3525dn Review
The HP Color LaserJet CP3525dn printer is a corporate cog that will print professional flyers, newsletters, postcards, and brochures for business needs. It is a star performer that incorporates sensible qualities and network-ability. Businesses can expect prompt, quality prints from this compact printer. The dimensions of this printer lies at 14.1-inches tall, 32.4-inches wide, 29.1-inches deep, and weighs about 72 pounds. This printer is a veritable addition to any office hutch.
HP continues to improve functionality and printer capabilities when they create newer models. This model is a fast laser printer that can print 30 pages per minute, for both, Color and Black-based documents. It takes only 11 seconds to print the first page of the day. Its processor speed is 515 MHz and the printer utilizes a standard memory of 384 Mega Bytes. The memory is expandable to a maximum of 1024 Mega Bytes. It prints at a resolution of 1200 x 600 dots per inch. HP advises consumers to stay within the range of 1500-5000 pages per month, but the printer has the ability to print 75,000 pages per month.
The robustness of the printer seems to be concurrent with its asking price. It is a workhorse suitable for small to medium-sized businesses and is capable of printing quality-images appropriate for effective presentations. One notable distinction of this printer is that it has its output dock located in front of the printer; a downward diagonal angle from left-to-right. This is especially appropriate when the older models retain its output dock on the top-middle with papers output towards the rear. Users do not have to reach around or stand up to grab the outputted papers. This printer reduces the need to outsource as businesses establish efficient communication in-house.
The printer can be shared amongst computers with the incorporated gigabit Ethernet port. Various protocols like IPv6 and IPSec offer enterprise-class features in security. Third-party solutions and an EIO slot enable flexibility in expanding the printer's functionality when business grows.
As far as the printer's design goes, all components are easily accessible for successful implementation of in-house printing. The EIO slots and network connectivity is located in the rear; it incorporates internal flash memory slots, a lock for security, and peripheral device connections. On the front-top, of the printer, is the conveniently placed 250-sheet output bin. Located on the front-top of the printer is the inherent 4-line LCD with various incorporated support functions. Directly below the output bin is an access door with pre-installed cartridges, for convenient replacement of ColorSphere toners. This printer has the much needed automatic two-sided print function. Directly below the housing for toners is a drawer that holds up to 250 sheets for input. Users can just load a ream of paper in this tray. Below the 250-sheet input, is the 500-sheet input tray that supports a wide-variety of media; the 500-sheet input tray is, unfortunately, optional. This gives the printer a total of 850 sheets capacity. The 100-sheet tray for multipurpose is, strangely, located on the right-side of the printer, directly below the single-door paper path. The single-paper path provides the accessibility for users to rectify paper jams.
Upon review of the printer, some customers have reported that the printer is quite fragile and easy to break down. Although, it could be an isolated event. One customer noted that the printer's biggest flaw is its weight. The wireless networking is optional with a hardware accessory. HP should of included wireless capability, fax, and copy to match the trade-off of the printer's asking price.
