Lexmark E232T Toner Cartridge - Prints 6000 Pages
  OVER 50

Price:  $38.89
Product Description
Lexmark E232t - Toner Cartridge

This Toner Cartridge prints 6000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Lexmark specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Lexmark.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Lexmark E232T Review

Regardless of its bizarre appearance, the Lexmark E232T is a fairly straightforward printer. This desktop laser device might look different than other devices with its bulbous, rounded edges and all black casing, but it really just falls into the all too overcrowded category of mediocre, outdated laser printers that can still be found at bargain rates online.

It’s hard to classify the Lexmark E232T’s as good, as its true print quality is the usual 600 x 600 dots per inch, but the device does offer enhanced image printing at 1200 and 2400 dot per inch equivalents which does give the user a little more control over the quality of their monochrome prints.

An element to the Lexmark E232T that should be noted is that this additional tray that is included in this model is fitted perfectly seamlessly with the curvy styling of the unit, resulting in a very clean and complete look that printers with attached hardware don’t always achieve. In fact, the most outstanding feature of the printer, other than the boosted paper capacity, is almost certainly its appearance as it is undeniably a good looking device.

The Lexmark E232 printer is equipped with a 250 sheet paper tray, but this Lexmark E232T version comes with a grand total of 800 sheets worth of storage space split among two trays. The device is also equipped with a multifunctional slot that is compatible with a variety of thick paper types and even non-paper print material such as transparencies. Unfortunately each envelope, sheet of card stock, or other special paper type will have to be hand fed one by one as the top paper tray is not multimedia compatible.

With a maximum monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages, the Lexmark E232T certainly qualifies as a light duty unit, as the device’s recommended duty is roughly one tenth of this amount. This should not prove to be a problem for most users though because the device is not network ready and instead comes complete with a USB port and an LPT port that allow for single PC hosting only.

The Lexmark E232T is oddly heavy for a simple desktop laser printer. It weighs over 30 pounds and also is a little bulky with dimensions of 14.9" x 15.6" x 14.8" (W x D x H). The additional height of the unit, however, is understandable as this is the “T” version of the printer, the T representing the additional paper tray.

With a print speed of only 22 pages per minute, the Lexmark E232T reveals its age, as even desktop laser printers that are currently on the shelves today can produce 30 pages per minute of performance without a problem and are also reasonably priced, which further diminishes the value of a discontinued model such as this. On the other hand, its first page out time is not bad and clocks in at about 8.5 seconds, so printing single pages of material will hardly result in a noticeable difference in speed from faster units.
