Lexmark E250d Toner Cartridge - Prints 3500 Pages
  OVER 50

Price:  $47.89
Product Description
Lexmark E250d TONER - 4,500 Pages

This Toner Cartridge prints 3500 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Lexmark specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Lexmark.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Lexmark E250D Review

The Lexmark E250D is a fairly stripped down, basic monochrome laser printer built for a desktop, though it does include a built in duplexer. Its limited set of hardware and run of the mill specifications make its overall value truly determined by what price one can pick one up for, because as a discontinued model the online cost of the printer is extremely varied.

There’s nothing wrong with the Lexmark E250D 30 page per minute print speed, as it falls right smack dab in the middle of the current print speed standard for desktop laser devices. When using the device’s built in duplexer, each page will take about twice as long to print, but this is understandable as the unit is printing twice as much information onto a single page, which is a great way to reduce paper costs.

The device’s 7.5 second first page out time would be nothing to write home about, except in the case of the Lexmark E250D, this time is achievable from both standby mode and power save mode, making the device a great choice for those who are not printing constantly, all day long but still wish to have quick access to their printer. The device’s power save mode makes this possible while using a trivial amount of electricity.

The Lexmark E250D also has a model variation on the market under the name of Lexmark E250DN. This version of the unit has all the same specifications as the core duplex only model, but also comes complete with a network card. Networking abilities can be added to the core model but it is much less expensive to purchase the network ready version. There is no standard unit that is complete with wireless networking, but it is an add on option for both.

With a standard memory of only 32 MBs, user may wish to take advantage of the Lexmark E250D’s memory upgrade possibilities, though no more than a total of 96 MBs can operate within the machine at any time. Upgrading the memory, though costly, is a good idea if complex print material such as PDF files will often be printed from the machine, as additional memory will prevent slowdown caused by such material. The 366 MHz processor is not upgradable, but certainly suffices for this simple desktop device.

With its ultra stripped down outer casing, the Lexmark E250D does not give users the benefit of a built in LCD display. Without a simple readout, users are pretty much limited to confusing, blinking LCDs to interpret information that the machine is trying to convey about print and toner problems.

It is hard to criticize the price of the Lexmark E250D because there is not a definitive one in the current market. A quick Google search reveals that the printer can be picked up for literally dirt cheap, or for a price that is way too high for this particular hardware set. Be sure to be cautious when shopping the market for this, or any other, discontinued printer.
