Product Description
Toner Cartridge for Lexmark E260D Laser Printer

This Toner Cartridge prints 3500 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Lexmark specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Lexmark.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Lexmark E260D Review

Overview:

The Lexmark E260D is one of the most compact devices you will find with built in duplexing and also boasts some very fast, high quality print specifications. This device, however simplistic for the most part, is a highly capable machine when it comes to speedy, high volume monochrome laser printing.

Pros:

With a print speed of up to 35 pages per minute, the Lexmark E260D is hard to top in the desktop laser printer category. Any, yes, the printer truly does qualify as a desktop unit, sitting not much larger than its inkjet counter parts with dimensions of 10.2 x 16 x 14.5 inches (W x D x H). It also squeaks just under the 30 pound mark with its curb weight of 29.77 lbs.

The unit’s first page out time is only 6.5 seconds and, while there are faster times on the market, 6.5 seconds is still worth applauding. It is not just speed, however, that makes the Lexmark E260D stand out against the rest. It is also capable of printing in very high resolution. With its best print quality sitting comfortably at 1200 x 1200 dots per inch, users have the ability to print accurate line drawings and crisp looking graphs along with professional level text and documentation.

The Lexmark E260D is powered by a solid 400 MHz processor that takes care of print data quickly and easily. Surprisingly, this little work horse relies on only 32 MBs of installed memory. Users who are not satisfied with this amount of memory can install additional RAM up to a total (including standard memory) of 160 MBs. Doing so will decrease processing time of complex print material such as mixed text and imagery.

The Lexmark E260D is connectable via a standard USB port and also an LPT port, which is another name for Parallel port. The unit’s paper tray holds up to 250 sheets and it is also equipped with a single page feed slot that can handle special media and thicker media such as card stock, envelopes, and greeting cards. If more standard paper storage is required, users can purchase an additional paper tray from Lexmark that will boost the unit’s total paper storage capacity all the way up to 800 sheets.

Considering the unit’s 50,000 page per month duty cycle, it is not a bad printer to use for high volume printing, in which case the additional tray could very well come in handy. The output tray is non expandable, but its 150 sheet capacity should be sufficient for pretty much all printing needs.

Cons:

The noise level of the Lexmark E260D certainly has people complaining. It is rated at 53 dBA but seems to operate even louder than that at times, which is a big disappointment, considering that laser printers are supposed to have the major advantage over inkjets when it comes to noise level. Still, the Lexmark E260D’s specifications speak for themselves and, if a clunky, loud printer is something you don’t mind, you can’t really go wrong with the Lexmark E260D.
