Muratec MFX-3050 Review
The Muratec MFX-3050 has exceptional print, facsimile and scan functions which are all housed in a very compact unit, suitable for any work place. It is a very powerful yet cost effective machine, incorporating high speed faxing, super clear color scanning and printing, and is known for being able to reduce printing and faxing costs, especially by way of its super-fast fax ability. It is capable of copying, scanning, printing and faxing 13 pages per minute.
Although Muratec is not a household name in the printer/copier business, in 1982 the company, then known as Murata Business Systems, entered the American market; in 1985 the company started marketing its facsimile products; and in 1992 the company changed its name to Muratec America, Inc. which is the US based subsidiary of Murata Machinery Ltd, a privately held Japanese multinational corporation (itself founded in 1935).
Muratec America is a manufacturer and supplier of desktop and workgroup multifunction printing (MFP) solutions and is also a provider of components for managed document services.
Its products are among the very best in the printer/copier business sector and have been honored with many awards, such as numerous 2010 Editor’s Choice awards from Better Buys for Business.
The managed document services (MDS) program, designed specifically for your office by the company and incorporating the use of the Muratec MFX-3050, removes all guesswork related to the capture of documentation, its output and routing, as one of the unit’s functions is the ability to store and route documents through your computer or e-mail systems.
Some of the multiple benefits offered by the Muratec MFX-3050 include simplified printing, copying, faxing and scanning of documents, secure storage of documents, touch screen operation and one touch scanning, as well as high resolution printing to either desktops or workgroups. The device offers integrated electronic document capture, routing and storage solutions.
The Muratec MFX-3050 is able to print on both A4 (the most commonly used paper size for letters and legal documents); as well as A3, which incorporates letter and legal size with ledger, which is 11” x 17” paper. The standard version of this fax/copier comes with a 520 sheet paper cassette together with a 100 sheet bypass tray, both of which are able to handle letter and legal size paper. For high-volume work places, there is an optional extra to increase the capacity of the paper supplies to up to 2,720 sheets. The automatic 50 page document feeder sends out 30 sheets per minute and prints at 45 PPM - powerful enough for almost every printing or scanning job.
The multifunctional abilities of this unit feature a high-resolution color scanner and an automatic document feeder which, together, digitalize documents for delivery to email addresses; fax locations, PC folders and even USB flash drive ports. The Muratec MFX3050 is able to receive faxes even while processing long printing jobs and it can be linked to an office computer system to also function as a printer.
This multifunctional unit is a very compact machine and easily sits on a desktop, thereby saving valuable floor space. Its small size does not limit its ability to process huge amounts of printing needs - from desktop publishing to large jobs more commonly associated with the very big printers on the market today. As it has the ability to print in monochrome or color, scan, fax and bind documents, all ones printing tasks are handled in one place and by one machine.
The very best feature of this machine is that it is able to receive incoming faxes, even while processing long printing jobs. It is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux.
Some may be put off by the very small size of the unit, thinking it not capable of producing large print jobs, while other may prefer a more well-known manufacturer.
