OKIDATA C7550N MAGENTA TONER CARTRIDGE

The OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer will display one of the listed messages if an installed toner cartridge needs replacing.

 

·       [XXX TONER LOW]

 

·       [INSTALL NEW TONER <> nnn: XXXX TONER EMPTY]

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must switch the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer off, and then open the top cover. After that, you must push the release lever of the exhausted toner cartridge towards the front side of the main unit until it stops, and then pull it out of the compartment. Now, you must remove the packing material from the new toner cartridge, and then shake the new component several times from side to side in order to redistribute the toner. Once you have redistributed the toner, you must remove the sealing tape from the new toner cartridge, and then insert the left end of the cartridge into the left holder of the corresponding slot. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must lower the right end of the new toner cartridge into the right holder of the slot, and then push the release lever of the cartridge towards the rear side of the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer until it stops. Finally, you must clean the LED heads, and then close the top cover of the laser printer.

A new drum unit lasts approx. 23,000 prints. You can check the current status of the drum units installed in your OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer from the Usage Menu. Please be aware that the installed drum units will yield less pages if you use heavily laid or textured paper. You should replace the installed drum units when/if any of the listed messages and print quality problems appears. Please note that you can solve some print quality problems by enabling the Drum Cleaning feature.

 

·       [<Color> DRUM NEAR LIFE] – The OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer has detected that the specified drum unit is nearing end of life. You should order a new set of drum units for your laser printer.

 

·       [CHANGE <COLOR> IMAGE DRUM] – The <Color> drum unit has been exhausted and needs to be replaced. Please install a new <Color> drum unit.

 

·       [CHECK IMAGE DRUM] – The indicated drum unit does not function correctly. You must ensure that the indicated component is properly installed, and then restart the laser printer. Please replace the indicated drum unit if the problem persists.

 

·       [INSTALL NEW IMAGE DRUM <COLOR>] – The indicated drum unit is defective or completely exhausted. Please replace the indicated component with a new one.

 

·       White stripes appear

 

·       Black stripes appear

 

·       Repetitive image defects occurring at intervals of 1,7323 inches or 3,7008 inches

To install a new drum unit, you must switch the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer off, and then open the top cover. After that, you must remove the exhausted drum unit together with the toner cartridge from the main unit, and then remove the replacement drum unit from the packaging. Now, you must pull the protective sheet out of the new drum unit, and then insert the new component into the corresponding slot. Once the new drum unit is inserted, you must remove the protective blanking plate, and then install a new toner cartridge into the new drum unit. Finally, you must close the top cover of your OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer. 

The lifespan of the fuser unit is approx. 60,000 prints. You can check the percentage of remaining printing resource of the installed fuser unit by selecting [Usage Menu] – [Fuser Life]. You should replace the installed fuser unit when/if:

 

·       Lines or spots occur at intervals of 4,4488 inches

 

·       The message [CHANGE FUSER UNIT] is displayed – The installed fuser unit has reached end of life. You should replace the exhausted component.

 

·       The message [CHECK FUSER UNIT] is displayed – You should check the fuser unit for correct installation, paper jam, or any signs of wear. Please replace the installed fuser unit if the error persists.

 

·       The message [FUSER UNIT MISSING] is displayed – The fuser unit is not installed, incorrectly installed, or defective. You should switch the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer off, reinstall the fuser unit, and then check the printer status. Please install a new fuser unit if the error persists.

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must switch the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer off, and then open the top cover. After that, you must push the lock levers of the exhausted fuser unit towards the rear side of the main unit, and then pull the exhausted component out of the compartment. Now, you must unpack the new fuser unit, and then remove the shipping tape. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must slide the new fuser unit along the guides of the slot until the two spring-loaded levers click, and then close the top cover of the laser printer. Finally, you must switch your OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer on.

You should replace the installed transfer belt when/if any of the listed messages appears. Please note that you can check the status of the installed transfer belt by selecting [Usage Menu] – [Belt Life].

 

·       [BELT UNIT MISSING] – The OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer does not detect the transfer belt. The most common causes for this print quality problem are:

 

§ Incorrect installation of the transfer belt

§ Missing transfer belt

§ Defective transfer belt

 

You should remove the transfer belt from the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer, and then reinstall it. Please install a new transfer belt if the problem persists.

 

·       [CHANGE BELT UNIT] – The OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer has detected that the components of the installed transfer belt are worn. Please replace the exhausted transfer belt.

 

·       [CHECK BELT UNIT] – An indication for a detected transfer belt related error. You must make sure that the transfer belt is installed correctly, and then test the laser printer. Please replace the installed transfer belt if the problem persists.

You must switch the OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer off, and then open the top cover. After that, you must remove the cradle together with the installed drum units and toner cartridges from the main unit, and then push the lock lever of the used transfer belt towards the rear side of the machine. Now, you must use the two handles to pull the exhausted transfer belt out of the laser printer, and then unpack the new transfer belt. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must align the pins of the new transfer belt with the grooves on the main unit, and then lower the new component into place. Once the new transfer belt is inserted, you must turn its lock lever towards the front side of the main unit until it stops, and then reinstall the cradle along with the attached drum units and toner cartridges. Finally, you must close the top cover of your OkiData C7550n Color Laser Printer.
