XEROX PHASER 6125 BLACK TONER CARTRIDGE

Though the entire front of the Xerox Phaser 6125 can be opened by pressing the release button on the right hand side of the machine, the unit’s toner cartridges can easily be accessed by opening a door on the side of the unit. Replacing them this way is extremely fast and easy.

The Xerox Phaser 6125 will indicate when a cartridge needs to be changed soon with a LOW TONER message appearing on the LCD screen. Once the toner alert appears, or print quality begins to noticeably suffer, it is possibly to try to extend the life of the toner cartridge by redistributing the remaining toner.

Always hold toner cartridges by their handle or by their sides and avoid touching their contact points as this could diminish print quality. With the side door of the printer open, remove the toner cartridge that is running low and shake it in all directions several times, then reinsert it into the machine. Print a test page and determine if print quality has improved. If it has not, it is time to replace the cartridge with a new one.

When installing a new cartridge, never open the unit until immediately before it is to be installed. This is to avoid exposing the sensitive cartridge to air and thus drying it out. Cartridges should also be kept away from bright light and, of course, flame or other extreme heat sources.

Install the new cartridge by sliding it into its correct slot and closing the side door. Print a test page to make sure it is functioning properly. It may take a page or two of printing before the cartridge becomes 100% operational. The old cartridge should be stored in a plastic bag to prevent toner from leaking and should be recycled properly though a credited recycling program.
 

Moving the Xerox Phaser 6125 can be dangerous both for the user and printer itself due to its heavy weight. Be sure to exercise caution when transporting the device from one location to another. When relocating the printer, be sure to situate it in a safe area where no one will step on it OR ITS POWER CORD. The printer hardware is equipped with ventilation openings. Users must be careful to never drop small items into these openings, especially not metallic objects such as paper clips.

Before lifting the printer, be sure to turn the power off by its switch AND disconnect its power cord from both the wall and the printer itself. Before handling the power cord, make sure your hands are completely dry.

Remove all paper from the machine before moving it by unloading any paper that is in the output tray and input tray. When the output tray is empty, fold down the paper stop flap to its closed position. Open the input tray and empty it and be sure to close it fully before lifting the unit.

Recessed handles can be found on either side of the printer and these are the ONLY areas that the printer should be lifted by. Lift the unit by its handles and move it gently to its new location. If the item is to be moved over a long distance or shipped, its toner cartridges should be removed to prevent toner from leaking into the interior of the device. Package toner and unused paper properly to keep it away from dust and moisture.

The color registration may be jostled out of adjustment upon movement of the printer and must therefore be reconfigured once the printer is safely in its new location.
