The HP LaserJet Pro CM1415FNW Multifunction Printer’s very large, full color touch screen makes the device much easier to operate than any of its counterparts that lack such a display. This all in one device is designed to be comprehensive and user friendly, so even those most novice of users will have no trouble copying and scanning, as well as printing from their PC.

Pros:

The stand alone functions of the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415FNW Multifunction Printer are head and shoulders above many other 5 in 1 devices on the market due to the printer’s user oriented features. The printer can be connected to a network via wired Ethernet or by way of the device’s built in wireless network card that makes setup possible in less than five minutes. The large, full color dedicated display makes stand alone faxing and copying fast and incredibly simple, while a built in automatic document feeder is sure to keep the speed of business moving.

With a built in automatic document feeder, users can load up to 35 pages of input into the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415FNW Multifunction Printer at once, making large scan, copy, and fax projects virtually hands free. 

Cons:

For some reason the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415FNW Multifunction Printer’s paper input tray holds only 150 sheets. This would make sense if the device were an ultra compact unit aiming to increase its low profile, but this HP is actually quite large, and should certainly come with at least a standard half ream paper tray. The total dimensions of the unit are 16.3 by 17.4 by 18.6 inches (W x D x H), placing it easily in the rather large category.

The absolutely unforgivable aspect of the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415FNW Multifunction Printer is its atrocious print speed. At default resolutions, the device prints at a mere 12 pages per minute in monochrome and 8 pages per minute in color. While the unit’s default resolution is admittedly fairly high, these print speeds are still sub par for the device’s category, and it does much better in comparison to its competitors in terms of resolution and print quality. Still, with a maximum color print resolution of only 600 x 400 dots per inch, the printer is well below photo quality and is not a device worth taking a second glance at if color imagery is any concern whatsoever.

Lastly, the printer’s maximum monthly duty cycle is so unthinkably low that it is worth mentioning. HP recommends printing only 300 to 1500 pages per month on the device, making it less than ideal for small businesses that require high print volumes.
