RICOH AFICIO 220 TONER CARTRIDGE

The toner cartridge installed in your Ricoh Aficio 220 Laser Printer is a consumable component, which must be replaced after approx. 11000 pages at 5% coverage. Your laser printer is equipped with a special toner indicator, which is located on the control panel. This indicator is illustrating six black dots in a pyramidal order with an arrow pointing towards the dots. The toner indicator will be blinking, when the toner level of the installed cartridge drops below the normal work minimum. Please note that you will be still able to print approx. 50 pages after the initial appearance of the described above indication. However, the print quality will be poor, and each new print will be lighter/with very low image density. Therefore, you should install a new toner cartridge soon after the initial appearance of the ‘’low toner’’ indication. You should always keep a spare toner cartridge for your Ricoh Aficio 220 Laser Printer in stock, but please store this component in a dark and dry storage room. The complete replacement procedure is included below.

In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover of your Ricoh Aficio 220 Laser Printer. Then, you must pull the green handle of the toner cartridge holder about 90degrees upwards (to a horizontal position). After that, you must unlock the toner cartridge holder by pushing its lock release lever down, and then gently pull the elevated green handle towards you until the toner cartridge holder stops. Now, you must unlock the exhausted toner cartridge by slowly pushing it towards the rear side of the toner cartridge holder, and then gently pull the exhausted component out. In the next step, you must unpack the new toner cartridge, and then loosen and evenly distribute the toner by shaking the new cartridge 7-8 times horizontally. Once the toner is redistributed, you must remove the black outer cap from the new toner cartridge, and then insert the cartridge into the toner cartridge holder. At this stage of the installation, you must lock the new toner cartridge into place by slowly sliding it towards the front side of the holder, and then push the green handle towards the main unit until the toner cartridge holder clicks into place. Finally, you must push the green handle down until it clicks, and then close the front cover of your Ricoh Aficio 220 Laser Printer.
