SHARP FO-DC535 DRUM

The initial starter drum cartridge installed in your Sharp FO-DC535 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine has a printing resource of approximately 20000 pages. Once the drum cartridge is close to the end of its useful life, the alarm indicator (the first indicator in the second column of the upper panel) will be blinking, and the following message ‘’REPLACE DRUM CARTRIDGE’’ will be displayed. The only possible action in the above situation is a prompt drum cartridge replacement. Otherwise, the remaining drum printing resource will be consumed very soon, the alarm indicator will steadily lights, and all printing/copying operations will be suspended. You should also replace the drum cartridge, if there are constantly appearing dots on the printed documents, or all printed images are distorted.

The drum cartridge replacement procedure in your SHARP FO-DC535 Multifunctional Laser Fax Machine includes the toner cartridge removal. Initially, you must open the print compartment cover by pressing its release, but be careful not to touch the inside of the compartment and more specifically the fusing unit, because it may be hot. Then, you must take out the toner cartridge by pulling it up and locate the drum cartridge afterwards (it is right under the toner cartridge). Now, you must pull out the old/exhausted drum cartridge and unpack the new one. After that, you must promptly install the unpacked new drum cartridge, because the excessive exposure to light could damage the drum cartridge. Once the new drum cartridge is in place, you must return the toner cartridge and close the print compartment cover. Finally, you must reset the drum counter by pressing [V] - [UP] or [DOWN] button until the [DRUM COUNTER CLEAR] is selected, and then press the [START/ENTER] button twice.
