STYLUS PHOTO 2200 PHOTO BLACK INK CARTRIDGE

The Epson Stylus Photo 2200 is an On-demand ink jet printer that is equipped with seven ink cartridges. Each of the installed ink cartridges is equipped with an IC chip. The IC chip sends status (ink level, expiration date) information to the built-in monitoring system of your printer constantly. Please be aware that all print/copy operations will be immediately disabled even if only one ink cartridge is empty. You must replace an installed ink cartridge(s) if:

The [Ink] LED flashes twice every three seconds – One or more installed ink cartridges are nearly empty. You can check the ink levels from the EPSON Status Monitor. All nearly empty ink cartridges should be replaced soon after the initial appearance of the indication.

The [Ink] LED is flashing rapidly - An ink cartridge(s) has been installed into a wrong (regarding color) slot. Please reinstall the ink cartridges correctly.

The [Ink] LED is on – One or more ink cartridges are empty. Printing will not continue until a new ink cartridge(s) of the corresponding color is installed.

One or several of the listed print-quality issues appear even after print head alignment and cleaning: horizontal banding, vertical misalignment, incorrect colors, missing colors, blurry or/and smeared printout.

Initially, you must make sure that the [Power] LED of your Epson Stylus Photo 2200 Ink Jet Printer is on (not flashing). Then, you must lower the output tray and open the top cover. Now, you must press the [Ink] button (do not hold down the button) to move the cartridge carriage to the replacement position, and then open the cover of the carriage. After that, you must squeeze the tabs of the exhausted ink cartridge and pull the cartridge upwards to remove it from the printer. In the next step, you must shake the new ink cartridge several times up and down, and then remove the protective plastic bag. Once the new ink cartridge is prepared, you must gently slide it into the corresponding slot until it clicks into place, and then close the cover of the carriage. In the concluding step, you must close the top cover, and then press the [Ink] button.
