Epson Stylus Photo 780 Review
The Epson Stylus Photo 780 is a color ink jet printer that features significant improvements from Epson Stylus Photo's earlier release, the Epson Stylus Photo 750. With the same technologies used by other Epson color ink jet printers to produce high quality photos, the Epson Stylus Photo 780 is a perfect choice for users who look to produce photos with topnotch color clarity and image detail.
The Epson Stylus Photo 780 uses a drop on demand ink jet Micro Piezo technology, which is mainly responsible for Epson's high quality photo print production. For its nozzle configuration, the Epson Stylus Photo 780 utilizes a total of 288 nozzles divided into 48 nozzles for each ink cartridge, for black and color ones such as cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta. For its resolution, the Epson Stylus Photo 780 features a significant increase over its earlier release, with a maximum dots per inch (dpi) resolution of 2880 x 720 dpi. Print direction is bidirectional with logic seeking function. For its control code, the Epson Stylus Photo 780 provides for ESC/P Raster and EPSON Remote. Input buffer for the Epson Stylus Photo 780 on the other hand is set at 32 KB.
The Epson Stylus Photo 780, though able to produce photo print outputs at high color and tone quality, lacks the speed that other color printers can offer. For a high resolution full image print output, the Epson Stylus Photo 780 takes up to 25 minutes to print, a luxury some users cannot afford especially if time is an essential part of their production. The control panel is also a bit cumbersome as it only features three buttons to control, while some printers in Epson Stylus Photo 780's class have a better configuration in managing color photo print output production.
