Lexmark X2500 Review
As a printer that is rated very low by consumers, it is no wonder why the Lexmark X2500’s price tag has dropped below the price of a tank of gas in recent years. This clunky device is capable of executing some basic multifunctional tasks but proceed with caution when it comes to this overall flimsy, cheap all in one unit.
All in all, the Lexmark X2500’s very low print speeds are actually forgivable considering the ridiculously low price of the hardware. Monochrome prints can be produced at a rate of about 22 pages per minute using the device and color prints speeds take a drop down to 16 pages per minute. Basically, that’s all one could ask for in the first place from a retired device such as this. These speeds are only accurate for draft printing though and, as various resolutions are selectable, users could very well experience much slower speeds.
Sometimes the real drawback of a piece of hardware cannot be found in its advertised specifications, as is the case with the Lexmark X2500. As a collective piece of hardware, the machine is flimsy and cheap and will almost without question result in complications when used frequently. The device operates on very expensive ink that Lexmark forces users to waste by printing a nozzle alignment page every single time a new cartridge is installed. The unit may look good on paper, but buyers will end up paying in frustration what they save in dollars. |
