Canon PIXMA MP150 Review
Canon PIXMA MP150 is an all-in-one compact printer appropriate for home office and SoHo. The printer's sleek, grayish-whitish design facilitate a wide-range of printing features. The printer utilizes FINE technology in its print-heads. FINE technology ensures prints are of lab-quality and an accurate representation of the original image. Its compact-size of 17.5 inches in width, 15 inches in depth, 7.2 inches in height, and 12.2 pounds make the printer a veritable add-on to the desktop. Canon offers a standard one-year of support for their warranty plan.
Canon PIXMA MP150 prints 22 pages per minute in Black, 17 pages per minute in Color, and one borderless 4 x 6 page in roughly 55 seconds. The speed is efficient, in comparison to most Canon MFPs. Printers of this type, typically, take twice as long in its prints per minute. The print-rate gives the printer an edge in SoHo environments. The print resolution is a standard 600 x 600 dots per inch in Black and 4800 x 1200 dots per inch in Color. Acceptable medias for the printer are 8 x 10 inches, 5 x 7 inches, 4 x 6 inches, 4 x 8 inches, Wallet-sized (Credit Card) 2.13 x 3.39 inches, Legal, and Letter. The compatible media are pretty simplified and isolated. The output tray holds up to 100 sheets of plain paper or 20 sheets of 4 x 6 photo paper. When users delegate the copier component, it prints 22 copies per minute in Black and 17 copies per minute in Color. It roughly takes 2.7 seconds to copy pages in pure-black and 3.5 seconds to copy pages in Color. The copy features are relatively simple. It facilitates Borderless printing, Continuous Copy (9 pages), and Fit-to-Page. The flatbed scanner facilitates an optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dots per inch and interpolated resolution of 19,200 x 19,200 dots per inch. There are two scanning modes; 48-bits internal and 24-bits external. Scanning with the printer yields highly-detailed scans. Though, it's strange Canon focused all of its quality output to the scanner component. The max document-size utilizable on the scanner flatbed is 8.5 x 11.7 inches.
The print, copy, and scan speeds of the Canon PIXMA MP150 is roughly 2 seconds per page. While it makes sense utilizing the printer for SoHo environments that require high-volume printing, there is balance between common and rigorous usage. Print speeds and page yield per cartridge is difficult to determine. This is due to the varying usage of the printer. Most users have diverse media and sizes they utilize with the printer, but suffice to say, the yield can be calculated quite simply during personal use.
For a printer that copies at mediocre speeds, it would be nice to see Canon include a continuous copy of at least 99 pages. Instead, users will have to preset the copier every 9 pages. This can be considered counterproductive in hectic business environments. The printer does not incorporate an Automatic Document Feeder or a duplexer for 2-sided prints. While, the printer is capable of using Ethernet ports, Canon did not incorporate it. They did not even present optional Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. Canon should of presented the option for networkable ideals to top off the printer's appeal to average consumers. The Canon PIXMA MP150 does not really have any flaws, considering its purpose. Most owners have not reported any issues with the printer. The biggest flaw an owner reported is its complication of use and cartridge replacement. |
