Overview:

The Canon Selphy DS810 is one mobile photo printer that you may want to leave on the shelf. It lacks battery support meaning that you can’t take it on the road. Overall it doesn’t stack up well when compared to other printers in the same price range. Print quality is also inferior with the DS810 from Canon. Colors are too dark and muddied.

Pros:

The Canon Selphy DS810 is user friendly and features easy to use buttons. It also features a four-way directional pad used to navigate menus and select print quantities via a flip-up 2.5-inch LCD.

It features two card slots for CompactFlash, Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SD/MMC, and xD media. Other attributes are the PictBridge ports and an IrDA 1.2 infrared port for printing JPEGs from mobile devices.

This printer also features a trimming key with a resizable grid which allows you to crop the photo within the constraints of the 4x6 print's 2:3 aspect ratio. A search button allows you to find images on the memory card. Printing functions are accessed with the Print, Stop/Reset, and OK buttons.

With the Canon Selphy DS810 you get a one-year limited warranty and online support options. Overall this printer is durable and should last a long time.

Cons:

Print quality could be better with the Canon Selphy DS810. Prints with a lot of deep black tones are acceptable, some colors lack contrast. In some prints you will see banding. Output speeds when printing 4X6 photos is slower than average. Disappointing output quality takes away from the appeal of the cost-effective and fast Canon Selphy DS810.
