BROTHER HL-3040CN CYAN OEM TONER CARTRIDGE

The toner cartridges installed in your Brother HL-3040CN Digital Color Printer should be replaced, when the built-in monitoring system notify you for a low toner level. The monitoring system uses warning messages displayed in the printer`s control display to inform you, if any toner cartridge`s abnormality has been detected. Once the monitoring system detects a low toner level in any/several of the installed toner cartridges, it will display one/several of the listed below warning messages, which are indicating the color and the current status of the toner cartridge/cartridges.

• ‘’Toner Low (K)’’ – The Black toner cartridge is almost empty.
• ‘’Toner Low (Y)’’ – The Yellow toner cartridge is almost empty.
• ‘’Toner Low (M)’’ – The Magenta toner cartridge is almost empty.
• ‘’Toner Low (C)’’ – The Cyan toner cartridge is almost empty.

Please note that the above warning messages will appear for about a minute after each print job. You should replace the indicated exhausted toner cartridge/cartridges soon after the initial appearance of the above warning messages, in order to avoid the listed below error messages.

•  ‘’Replace Toner (K)’’ – The Black toner cartridge is empty.
•  ‘’Replace Toner (Y)’’ – The Yellow toner cartridge is empty.
•  ‘’Replace Toner (M)’’ – The Magenta toner cartridge is empty.
•  ‘’Replace Toner (C)’’ – The Cyan toner cartridge is empty.

Please be aware, that if any of the above error messages appears in the control display, then all printing operations will be suspended, until a new toner cartridge/cartridges is installed.  You could avoid the above non-operational printer`s mode by replacing the exhausted toner cartridge immediately after the initial appearance of the first ‘’Toner Low (X) warning message. Herein, you should always keep a spare set of toner cartridges for your Brother HL-3040CN Digital Color Printer, but remember to store them in accordance with the manufacturer`s recommendations.

Important: The printer`s power switch must be in OFF position, before proceeding with the described below toner cartridge replacement procedure.

The toner cartridges of your Brother HL-3040CN Digital Color Printer are located below the top cover of the printer. Herein, you must start the toner cartridge replacement procedure by opening the top cover and locating the exhausted toner cartridge/cartridges or the corresponding (regarding color) drum unit. Please note that each toner cartridge in your HL-3040CN is inserted into a special toner cartridge slot on the corresponding drum unit. Now, you must take the drum unit and the exhausted toner cartridge assembly out of the printer by gently pulling it upwards. In the next step of the toner cartridge replacement procedure, you must detach the exhausted toner cartridge from the drum unit by pushing down its green lock release lever and lifting the front side of the cartridge upwards.  Please avoid touching the surface of the photoconductive drum, in order to avoid damages to the drum unit, and resp. future print quality problems. Once the exhausted toner cartridge is detached, you must clean the primary corona wire of the drum unit by completely sliding the green tab 3-4 times along the drum unit`s recess, and then return the green tab to its original/home position. After that, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the transport packaging, and then shake it 6-7 times horizontally, in order to evenly distribute and loosen the toner. Now, you must detach the protective cover from the new toner cartridge, and immediately after that, you must carefully insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit, until you hear a click. Once the drum unit and the new toner cartridge are assembled, you must insert them back into the appropriate HL-3040CN slot. Finally, you must close the top cover and turn the power switch of your Brother HL-3040CN Digital Color Printer back on. The printer will automatically initialize the new toner cartridge and it will switch to ‘’stand-by/ready’’ mode.
