You can determine if an installed printhead needs to be replaced by printing a configuration page and checking the printhead section, or by selecting [Information] – [SHOW PRINTHEAD HEALTH]. The HP Business InkJet 2200 InkJet Printer will display one of the listed messages if it detects a printhead related abnormality.

· [REPLACE PRINTHEAD] – You should remove the indicated printhead from the printer, make sure that the shipping tape has been removed, and then reinstall the printhead. Please replace the indicated printhead if the problem persists.

· [ PRINTHEAD MISSING] – The indicated printhead is missing, incorrectly installed, or defective. Please make sure that the printhead is installed correctly, and then test the HP Business InkJet 2200 InkJet Printer. You have to install a new printhead if the problem persists.

· [BAD PRINTHEAD] – The indicated printhead is defective. Please install a new printhead.

In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must switch the HP Business InkJet 2200 InkJet Printer on, and then open the cover of the printhead compartment. Please note that the printheads are installed in the following order (left – right): Cyan, Black, Magenta, and Yellow. After that, you must open the printhead latch, and then pull the exhausted printhead carefully out of the compartment. Now, you must take the new printhead out of the protective bag, and then remove the sealing tape from the new component. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the new printhead into the corresponding slot, and then push it down to ensure proper contact. Once the new printhead is installed, you must close the printhead latch, and then close the cover of the printhead compartment. Finally, you must wait while the HP Business InkJet 2200 InkJet Printer initializes the printheads (about 8 minutes), add paper into the input tray, and then press [OK] to align the printheads.
