You can check the status of the ink cartridges installed in your Epson Stylus Photo R320 Printer by looking at the icons on the control panel. The installed ink cartridges must be replaced if:

An installed cartridge(s) is more than six months old

One of the listed below messages is displayed on the LCD screen. These messages indicate that the specified ink cartridge is empty.

One of the listed below messages is displayed on the LCD screen. These messages indicate that the specified ink cartridge is incorrectly installed, unsupported, or faulty. You must make sure that all ink cartridges are correctly installed if any of the listed messages appears. The specified ink cartridges must be replaced if the problem persists.
‘’ Ink cartridge cannot be recognized: T0481’’
‘’ Ink cartridge cannot be recognized: T0482’’
‘’ Ink cartridge cannot be recognized: T0483’’

The [Ink] icon blinks – One of the installed ink cartridges is near the end of its useful life. You should replace all nearly empty ink cartridges as soon as possible.

One of the listed print quality issues appears

Banding/light lines
Faded printouts or gaps in the image
Missing or wrong color(s)

You must turn your Epson Stylus Photo R320 Printer on, and then open the top cover. After that, you must select [Ink Cartridge Replacement], press the [OK] button, and wait until the following message ‘’Ink cartridge replacement will begin’’ is displayed on the LCD screen. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must press the [OK] button again, wait until the cartridge holder stops moving, and then open the cover of the holder. Now, you must remove the exhausted ink cartridge by pulling the locking tab towards you and lifting the cartridge out of the printer. Then, you must unpack the new ink cartridge, but please do not touch its green circuit board. Once the new ink cartridge is prepared, you must slide it into the corresponding slot of the holder until you hear a click, and then close the cover of the holder. Finally, you must press the [OK] button, close the top cover of your Epson Stylus Photo R320 Printer, and wait until the following message ‘’Charging is complete’’ appears on the LCD screen.
