HP Color LaserJet CP5525dn Review
The HP Color LaserJet CP5525dn is a professional printer that is acceptable in an enterprise environment. Its suitability for large organizations is attributed to the printer's intuitive management features and flexibility in networking. It is a dynamic corporate unit that will reduce expenditures and produce high-impact prints. This corporate machine is 29.3-inches wide, 27-inches in depth, 34.8-inches tall, and weights approximately 117.8 pounds. This is a genuine add-on to any growing industry and will fit nicely in any corporate environment.
This printer is reported to print at a percentage of 30 pages per minute for both, Color and Black & White A4 documents. With the first page out at less than 10 seconds, this printer dishes out images and text at a resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch. The printer utilizes a processor capable of 800 MHz and facilitates a standard/maximum memory of 1 Giga Byte. Contributed by its highly capable processor and large memory-base, the printer can safely dish out between 2,500 to 10,000 pages per month. HP boasts that the printer is capable of generating an amount of 120,000 pages per month. Most businesses do not need 120,000 pages per month, but at least they are assured this printer will go beyond its expected capabilities, if needed.
Luckily, HP made this printer with automatic duplex capabilities. Users can create books, magazines, and other two-sided documents. The duplex capabilities contribute to reducing paper waste and energy consumption. Opposed to the CP5525n printer, this one does not require a user to manual flip pages to get 2-sided prints. Therefore, it is safe to say that this printer also increases productivity without compromise to time-consuming tasks.
The HP Color LaserJet CP5525dn printer's rival, the Xerox Phaser 7500/DN, takes up more energy to operate. The CP5525dn slightly slower than the Phaser 7500/DN by 5 pages. In comparison, the CP5525DN is easier to set up and requires less management. Unlike the Phaser 7500/DN, the CP5525DN printer can be utilized from smart phones, laptops, or other mobile devices from the HP ePrint technology. The trade-off is between speed, efficiency, and functionality. The HP printer utilizes drum and toner incorporated in a single unit. In contrast, the Phaser printer utilizes two seperate parts.
There are various security features that can protect the network and data packets. The gigabit network will minimize security disruptions while sending protected data through secure mediums like HTTPS, SNMPv3, and IPSec.
HP backs this printer with a comprehensive warranty plan that reduces downtime in businesses. It is recommended to get this printer backed by 'Same Day Onsite Service', which an HP technician or authorized provider will visit the place of business to make necessary adjustments. This service will have a technician on-site within four hours to the next day. HP provides warranty plans that are anywhere from 1 year to 5 years. The limit of 5 years attests this printer's durability.
While the resolution is suitable for high-volume prints, this printer is not ideal for focus on image-quality. Though it may not be needed for most companies, the memory cannot be upgraded any further than 1 Giga Byte. There aren't any real cons to using this printer. Although, the printer could benefit from a resolution by at least 1200 x 1200 dots per inch.
