B4200 OEM DRUM

The drum unit installed in your OKIDATA B4200 is a consumable component, which has a printing resource enough for approximately 25000 pages/prints. Therefore, the installed drum unit is constantly monitored by the built-in system of your printer, and you will be notified before the complete exhaustion of this important consumable component. This advance notification will be accomplished with the displaying of the following warning message ''CHANGE DRUM'' on the control LCD of your laser device. Additionally, the error LED of your printer will be slowly blinking, once the remaining print resource of the installed drum unit is less than 10%. You should replace the installed drum unit soon after the initial appearance of any of the described indications, in order to be avoided a variety of print quality issues, which will negatively affect your work. Please note that you should install a new toner cartridge, when you are replacing an exhausted drum unit in your OKIDATA B4200.

Important: Please avoid touching the sensitive, green surface of the new drum unit, and also the fuser unit. Please avoid excessive exposures (longer than 5 minutes) of the new drum unit to direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting.

You must start the drum unit replacement procedure by opening the top cover of your OKIDATA B4200. Then, you must remove the toner cartridge and exhausted drum unit assembly by pulling it carefully upwards. After that, you must unpack the new drum unit, and then insert it into the printer. Once the new drum unit is inserted, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the transport packaging, and then shake it 7-8 times from side to side. In the next step, you must remove the protective tape from the new toner cartridge, and then install the prepared new component into the new drum unit by inserting its left end first. Now, you must wipe the LED head, which is located on the top cover, with a LED lens cleaner or a soft tissue, and then close the top cover of your OKIDATA B4200. After that, you must reset the counter of the drum unit by starting the [STATUS MONITOR], and then press [Printer Setup Tab] – [Printer Menu Button] – and select [Maintenance 1]. Finally, you must press the [RESET] button, and then press [OK].
