Be sure that you have the correct ink cartridges on hand before you attempt to replace the old ones because a new cartridge must be installed immediately after an old one is removed so as not to dry out the print head. If you receive a low ink warning, it is best to order new cartridges before they run out to prevent down time.

A message will appear reading YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE FOLLOWING INK CARTRIDGE(S), with the colors of the cartridges that need replacement on the LCD screen when one or more cartridges has run completely out of ink. You can not print when even one cartridge is completely dry.

Replace cartridges with the printer turned on. It does not need to be connected to a host PC during cartridge replacement. Note the colors that need replacement before opening the printer, then lift the scanner up. Beneath it you will find a cartridge holder on the print head with a door that can be lifted to gain access to the cartridges.

Cartridges have lock tabs on them that must be squeezed to release them from the printer. Pull straight up on each tab that needs replacement and do not attempt to refill old cartridges. Instead, recycle them through a cartridge recycling program.

Take a new ink cartridge of the correct color and shake it a few times to stir the ink inside the cartridge before opening its packaging. Remove the YELLOW piece of tape from the cartridge but nothing else, and be careful not to make any contact with the green chip on the side of the cartridge or the printer may have trouble communicating with it.

Slide each new cartridge down into its correct slot according to color. Press down on the new cartridges so that they snap into place. When all necessary cartridges have been replaced, close the cartridge cover and the scanner. The printer will automatically begin to charge the cartridges to ready them for printing. After about two and a half minutes, the printer will be ready for use.

The Epson WorkForce 630 does not require a PC to be connected for printing, but instead can print directly from a memory card with the help of the LCD screen. Be sure that the printer is turned ON when a memory card is inserted. Check that the orientation of the card is correct and slide it into the machine. The memory card light should flash and then light up.

To print from the card, first be sure that photo paper is loaded into the printer. Press the PHOTO button and then use the screen and directional keys to select VIEW>PRINT PHOTOS. You can then scroll through the photos that you wish to print and use the UP and DOWN keys to select the quantity of each photo you wish to print. You may select multiple photos and, when finished, press MENU>PRINT SETTINGS and select the paper size and type that you have loaded into the machine.

You can also press BACK to make PHOTO ADJUSTEMENTS and, when finished, press PRINT PHOTO to begin the printing process.
