Product Description
Toshiba E-Studio 237 Toner Cartridge - 24,000 Pages

This Toner Cartridge prints 24000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Toshiba specification)

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Toshiba.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Toshiba e-Studio 237 Review

Overview:

Toshiba e-Studio 237 can be better described as the sister of two e-Studio multifunction device by Toshiba, namely the e-Studio 167 and e-Studio 207, that came out to have the fastest speed among the three. This faster speed also means faster document processing thus greater boost in a business workflow. If you’ve known the other two e-Studio devices and they’re features, then expect the same as well from e-Studio 237 but an important enhancement is its speed in providing print and copy solutions allowing efficiency and productivity to flow in smoothly and quickly. The compact design and aesthetically pleasing look is fit for any professional office workplace and should complement any PC within the workstation. It resembles like a large standing rectangular box revamped with cream color relieved by some panels in gray and designed with a few smart-looking lines which just enhances its individuality. A prominent feature that should be readily visible is the gray color panel at the front most top which contains useful highlights in it. These highlights include an LCD display and array of buttons for controls including the three larger ones in yellow, orange and green color used for some basic functions such as for initiating and terminating print, copy and scan actions.

Pros:

Look no further than e-Studio 237 if you’re looking for something to abuse just to meet your abusive document processing needs. Great performance and decent quality is endured hour after hour and day after day of continuous paper works. These claims are supported by components made to impart cost-efficiency notably the developer and drum unit guaranteeing of up to 90,000 impressions plus the toner cartridge integrated by 100% recycling toner system which guarantees up to 24,000 impressions. These features of the components overall yields a maximum monthly copy volume of 74,000 copies. This performance wouldn’t be so meaningful if paper handling is poor and this is not the case for e-Studio 237. It has a substantial paper sheet capacity at standard 350 paper sheets given by a 250-sheet paper tray and a 100-sheet bypass tray perfect for delivering outputs through special media types such as transparencies and envelopes. If this still sounds insufficient, optional feeders are available making the maximum paper sheet capacity to 1,700 sheets. And to save you time of doing some manual work, the optional feeders include a 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder and a 100-sheet Reverse Automatic Document Feeder.

As the fastest among its sister e-Studio multifunction device, e-Studio 237 runs at 23 PPM (pages per minute) in providing copy solutions in a copying resolution of 2,400 x 600 DPI with smoothing technology. The same rate can be said for printing but of two distinct resolutions, 600 x 600 DPI for standard GDI printing while 2,400 x 600 DPI (with smoothing technology) for network printing. The standard copier memory is non-expandable but should be sufficient at standard 12 MB. You don’t have to wait that long for e-Studio 237 to leap into action with a warm-up time of around 25 seconds that then delivers at a first copy out time of approximately less than 7.5 seconds (letter size). Image density control can be in text, text-photo and photo mode where reduction and enlargement can be done ranging from 25% to 200% allowing multiple copying of up to 999 copies.

Standard scanning feature is TWAIN-compatible that provides two resolution options depending on your needs: 300 x 300 DPI and 600 x 600 DPI. Get greater flexibility with the network scanning offering five options for resolution namely 150 DPI, 200 DPI, 300 DPI, 400 DPI and 600 DPI and delivers your scan needs at a decent speed of 20 scans per minute (letter size at 600 DPI). Scanned documents can be of TIFF or PDF format and it provides “scan to” features including scan-to-email, scan-to-file (SMB or FTP) and scan-to-TWAIN. And duplex transmission is supported by the super G3-compatible fax of 33.6 Kbps modem speed.

Maximize the benefits from e-Studio 237’s functionality by the integrated management and monitoring application suite. First on the line is the TopAccess that monitors different statuses which becomes helpful as it shows instant alerts to network computers whenever paper reloading or toner replenishment is needed. Toshiba and e-Bridge Viewer are as well present enabling both standard GDI printing and TWAIN compatible scanning and the other enables broad searching among all selected data stored in a PC in which search can be narrowed by certain identified criteria.

Cons:

All stated functionalities and features pack together made e-Studio 237 large and considerably bulky at dimensions of 23.62” x 25.31 x 18.21” (W x D X H) and mobility can also be a hassle with its weight at around 70.1 lbs. Operating system capability is as well a problem as by default, it is incompatible to newer operating systems namely Windows Vista and 7 since its compatibility are on operating systems prior to its release or in the case of Windows OS is only until Windows XP and so driver/s (if available, which may be found directly in the official manufacturer’s site) is/are needed to be downloaded and installed to be compatible with these newer versions.
