XEROX PHASER 7400 YELLOW DRUM

Your Xerox Phaser 7400 Color Laser Printer is equipped with four drum/imaging units, which are constantly monitored by the built-in drum monitoring system. Once any/all of the installed four imaging units reaches the end of its useful life, you will see the following message ‘’Replace [C] [M] [Y] [K] Imaging Unit’’, where ‘’K’’ is indicating an exhausted black imaging unit. You must replace the exhausted imaging unit soon after the initial appearance of the above message. Otherwise, the printing quality will be drastically decreased, and you will notice a variety of print quality issues, such as constantly reappearing background fogging, blurred images, blank copies, solid copies, multiple white bandings, or various black/color bandings on the printed document.

You must start the drum/imaging unit replacement procedure by turning off the power switch of your Xerox Phaser 7400 Color Laser Printer. Then, you must lift the top cover and locate the toner cartridge, installed in the exhausted imaging unit. Now, you must remove the toner cartridge without unlocking it, so the exhausted imaging unit will be removed along with the toner cartridge. Once the exhausted imaging unit is out along with the still locked toner cartridge, you must separate both components by turning the toner cartridge lock release lever to unlocked position (left). Please note, once unpacked the new imaging unit must not be exposed to direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting for more than 10 minutes maximum.  After that, you must insert the new imaging unit into the printer`s slot and remove its protective paper and all three protecting plastic covers. Then, you must install the toner cartridge to the new imaging unit and lock it into place by turning its lock release lever to locked position (right). Finally, you can close the top cover and test your Xerox Phaser 7400 Color Laser Printer.
