This Toner Cartridge prints 6000 pages with an average 5% page coverage. The amount of pages can vary depending upon the amount of ink printed onto each page. (5% page coverage is a standard Brother specification)

When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Brother DCP-1200 Digital Copier?

You should replace the installed toner cartridge when any of the listed control panel indications and messages appears.

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Brother DCP-1200 Digital Copier

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover, and then pull the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly out of the Brother DCP-1200 Digital Copier. After that, you must press the release lever located on the right side of the assembly and pull the exhausted toner cartridge out of the drum unit. Now, you must take the new toner cartridge out of the aluminum bag, and then shake it at least ten times horizontally to loosen the toner. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the protective cover from the toner roller, and then insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place. Once you have installed the new toner cartridge, you must clean the primary corona wire of the drum unit by sliding the blue tab from left to right and right to left, and then return the blue cleaning tab back to its original position. Finally, you must insert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the Brother DCP-1200 Digital Copier, and then close the front cover.

Pros:

The Brother DCP-1200 delivers all the features that you will need. It can print, scan, and copy. There is a 50 sheet automatic document feeder for scanning. Another feature of this unit is scan to email for a very convenient option, and it has its own dedicated button.

Toner cartridges for the Brother DCP-1200 come in two sizes. The standard cartridge yields 3,000 pages, while the high-yield cartridge has a capacity of 6,000 pages. Installing and replacing Brother DCP-1200 toner cartridges is a simple and easy process. Print quality is very good. Text is above average, but loses some clarity on very small font sizes. The Brother DCP-1200 can produce 12 pages per minute.

Cons:

The Brother DCP 1200 has limited paper capacity. Furthermore it lacks a multipurpose tray. However it does come with optical character recognition (OCR) software. It can be used to convert scanned documents into edible text. This unit also lacks faxing capabilities. As a result your business will need to maintain a separate fax machine.
