Overview:

The Brother DCP 7060D is a small-office, home-office solution that provides efficiency for production and space. It facilitates a three-in-one design consisting of features like mono printing, copying, and color scanning. These features make it a useful companion for students, as well. The multifunction printer has a swift page production and a generous paper capacity that will keep business or home processes running smoothly. It stands 10.55" tall, 16" wide, 15.69" deep, and weighs approximately 22.27 pounds. The capabilities of this three-in-one device make it straightforward to streamline document generation via copier, scanner, and printer.

Pros:

The Brother DCP 7060D printer is capable of dishing out prints and copies at a rate of 24 pages per minute, and it produces professional output at 2400 x 600 dots per inch. It has an automatic duplex feature that enables end-users to generate two-sided documents. Two-sided documents are particularly useful when end-users need to create a booklet or save paper. The two-sided prints are not exclusive to the printer. It can also be utilized via the copier. Two-sided prints can help end-users save money in the long run.

The copier feature does not need a PC (Personal Computer) to operate. End-users can conveniently reduce and enlarge documents at 1% increments between 25-400%. The copier facilitates N-in-1 copying, which can save paper, as well. N-in-1 copying allows end-users to combine multiple documents into a single document (2-in-1, 4-in-1, etc.).

The paper-handling features are quite flexible with an adjustable 250-sheet capacity tray; it can hold legal or letter paper. It also has a manual single-sheet feed slot that can be used in conjunction of ideal thick media and envelopes. Its straight-through paper path, from front-to-back, will ensure that documents make a clean entry and exit.

The standard print memory is a decent 32 Mega Bytes. For such a small device, it has an excellent duty cycle of up to 10,000 pages per month; its recommended print volume is 250-2,000 pages per month. Unlike many 3-in-1s, this device is compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems. The standard interface connection is via a Hi-Speed USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 port.

The scanner is capable of scanning documents in Black & White or Color of up to 19200 x 19200 dots per inch resolution. If end-users do not have viewer software, Brother has included Scansoft PaperPort SE for Windows-based systems and Presto PageManager for Macintosh systems. The scans can be exported to common formats like TIFF (Tagged Image File Format), BMP (Bitmap Image File), MAX (3Ds Max Scene File), JPG (Joint Photographic [Experts] Group), PDF (Portable Document Format), Secure PDF, PNG (Portable Network Graphics), and XPS. The scan-to feature can be utilized for images, OCR, emails, and files.

 

Cons:

The first thing that is noticeable is that there is not optional add-ons for paper capacity management. The print memory cannot be upgraded to higher capacity. Unfortunately, the copier is incapable of copying color. While the 3-in-1 features are tremendously appreciated, there is no flexibility in its interface for other secondary devices like cameras or camera phones. Also, there are no media slots available.  This printer is only effective if there needs to be a lot of printing and copying done.  This printer does not offer the luxery of color prints or copies.
