When do I Replace a Toner Cartridge in the Brother HL-4040CDN/HL-4040CDW Laser Printer?

How to Install a Toner Cartridge in the Brother HL-4040CDN/HL-4040CDW Laser Printer?

In the first step of the toner cartridge replacement in your Brother HL-4040CDN/HL-4040CDW Laser Printer, you must open the front cover by pushing down its lock release button. After that, you must use the green drum unit`s handle to lift the drum unit slightly upwards, and then gently pull the drum unit towards you until it stops. Now, you must locate the exhausted toner cartridge and remove it from the drum unit by holding its handle and pulling upwards. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must appropriately dispose the exhausted toner cartridge, and then remove all of the remaining toner cartridges from the drum unit. Once all toner cartridges are removed, you must open the first white corona wire cover by gently pressing down its release latches, and then slide the green tab 3-4 times from left to right and back to its home/original position, in order to clean the first corona wire of the drum unit. Then, repeat the same cleaning procedure with the remaining 3 corona wires, but remember to return all green cleaning tabs to their home/original positions afterwards. After the corona wires cleaning, you must take the new toner cartridge out of its transport packaging, and then shake it 7-8 times horizontally, in order to evenly distribute and loosen the toner inside the cartridge. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the colored protective cover from the new toner cartridge, and then insert the cartridge into the appropriate (regarding color) slot, but do not forget to push the toner cartridge handle down afterwards. Once the new toner cartridge is installed, you must return all of the previously removed toner cartridges (except the exhausted) back into their appropriate slots. Please note that the toner cartridges installed in your Brother HL-4040CDN/HL-4040CDW Laser Printer must be arranged in the following order from the printer towards you: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. When all toner cartridges are installed into the drum unit and their handles are lowered, you must slide the drum unit back into the printer, and then slightly push its front side down to lock it into place. Finally, you can close the front cover and test your Brother HL-4040CDN/HL-4040CDW Laser Printer.
