When do I Replace a Drum Unit in the Brother HL-5150DLT Laser Printer?

The useful life of a new drum unit is approx. 20,000 pages at 5% coverage. One or several of the listed indications will appear when the installed drum unit reaches the end of its useful life.

The green [Status] LED is lit, and the yellow [Drum] LED flashes.

You have already replaced the toner cartridge but one of the listed print quality problems still occurs.

How to Install a Drum Unit in the Brother HL-5150DLT Laser Printer

In the initial step of the replacement procedure, you must open the front cover of your Brother HL-5150DLT Laser Printer, and then remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. After that, you must remove the toner cartridge from the exhausted drum unit, and then unpack the replacement component. Now, you must insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until it locks into place, and then insert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the Brother HL-5150DLT Laser Printer. Finally, you must reset the drum counter, and then close the front cover of the laser printer.
