How to Install a Drum Unit in the Brother HL-5440D

In the first step of the replacement procedure, you must switch the Brother HL-5440D on, and then wait at least ten minutes. After that, you must open the front cover by pressing its release button, and then remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly from the main unit. Now, you must remove the toner cartridge from the exhausted drum unit, and then remove the packing material from the new component. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until it locks into place, and then install the assembly into the Brother HL-5440D. Finally, you must hold the [GO] button for about 5 seconds, and then close the front cover of your Brother HL-5440D.

How to Install a Fuser Unit in the Brother HL-5440D

Initially, you must detach the right fuser line cover by removing the screw and releasing the hook, and then remove the rear nip release link. After that, you must remove the left fuser line cover, and then release and disconnect the heater harness. Now, you must remove the fuser ground spring, and then release the harnesses of the center and side thermistors. In the next step of the replacement procedure, you must remove the mounting screw from the front side of the exhausted fuser unit, and then remove the exhausted component from the Brother HL-5440D. Finally, you must unpack the new fuser unit, and then install it by executing the current procedure in reverse order.
