Brother MFC-7860DW Toner Cartridge (Extra Capacity - 2600 Pages)
  OVER 100

Price:  $10.89
Product Description
Toner Cartridge for Brother MFC-7860DW MultiFunction Laser Printer.

This toner cartridge prints 2600 pages with average 5% coverage (Nearly all Printer manufacturers base their ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% page coverage).

This product comes with a 6 month Warranty against any defects (including free replacement). We stand behind our products 100%, as these are not manufactured by Brother.

Why toner? Why not call it ink? Regular ink dries quickly, which is why cartridges for inkjet printers do not last long. Laser Printers use toner, which is ink in the form of powder. A sealed toner cartridge can be stored for 2+ years prior to usage.

Product Manuals
Changing the Toner Cartridge on the Brother MFC-7860DW

When the Toner cartridge is low, the LCD will show "Toner Low."

When the LCD shows "Replace Toner", users can push the printer to finish off any remaining toner by pushing Menu, 1, 8, and Continue.

When the Toner cartridge is empty, the LCD will show "Toner Ended" and it is time to replace the toner.

A general rule of thumb is to clean the device every time the toner cartridge or drum is replaced.

Only unpack the new toner when it is going to be immediately installed.

The device must be turned on prior to replacing the toner cartridge.

Leave the device on for 10 minutes with the front-cover open. (If the device is used, it takes up to 10 minutes for the internal parts to cool down)

Remove the drum/toner assembly that is visible through the open front-cover.

On the drum/toner assembly, there is a green-lock lever; push the lever down and remove the toner from the drum unit.

NOTE: Do not employ the use of cleaning agents that contain alcohol, ammonia, spray, or flammable substance; for either outside or inside the device.

Unpack the new toner package. Hold the cartridge level with both hands. Shake the cartridge from side-to-side to distribute toner evenly within the cartridge. Remove the protective cover.

NOTE: When the protective cover is removed, immediately assemble the drum/toner assembly to avoid degradation to print life and quality. When discarding or recycling the toner cartridge, ensure that the cartridge is sealed tight in a bag.

Install the new toner cartridge onto the drum. When the toner cartridge is installed properly, it will click into place, and the green-lock lever will raise automatically.

As a general rule of thumb, it is good practice to clean the corona wire every instance that the drum/toner unit is replaced. The corona wire can be cleaned by sliding the green tab left-to-right a few times.

NOTE: Ensure that the green tab is back in its original home position, which is represented by a triangular-arrow.

Put the drum/toner assembly back into the device, and close the front-cover.

NOTE: When the toner or drum unit is replaced, do not turn off the device's power or open the front-cover until the LCD no longer says "Please Wait."

Cleaning the Brother MFC 7860DW Corona Wire

Sometimes, print quality may be present, but the toner or drum unit do not need to be replaced. In which case, it is time to clean the corona wire.

Undo the front-cover and leave the device on for 10 minutes nonoperational.

Carefully remove the toner/drum assembly and place on a flat surface covered with disposable cloth or paper.

NOTE: Don't touch the electrodes inside the device, because static electricity can damage the circuits.

The corona wire is within the drum unit, and it can be cleaned by moving the green-tab left-to-right numerous times (ensure that the tab is returned to its home position represented by a triangular arrow).

Brother MFC 7860DW Review

The Brother MFC 7860DW is everything one needs from an all-around monochrome laser device. The MFC can be employed in small businesses or in a home office. This device can print, copy, scan, fax, and PC fax. It is an all-in-one device that is ideal for producing the output that is common in today's business environment. It stands 12.4" tall, 15.7" deep, and 15.9" wide. It weighs a modest 25.6 pounds; it is quite easy to move around. A one-year limited warranty is included with the purchase of this machine.

The Brother MFC 7860 device offers exceptional performance in its output rate at 27 pages per minute. It prints at a rate of 27 pages per minute for print and copy, which allows employees and users to reduce wasted time and focus on more pertinent tasks. It facilitates automatic duplex printing that lets users print two-sided booklets and documents with simplicity. It has a unique feature of letting users use one-sided originals to produce two-sided output for copying and faxing tasks. This printer can go as far as 10,000 prints per month, but the recommended monthly volume rests at an ample 250-2,000 pages per month.

This model is the most flexible, in terms of network capability, out of the three models in the 7860 series. It can be shared via wired or wireless network for common tasks such as PC faxing, scanning, and printing. If there is only one PC, it can be connected locally via the USB port.

The all-in-one MFC offers a generous document management system. It allows users to scan documents and archive, share, or edit paper-bases jobs electronically. This sophisticated feature lets users manage both, small and large business requirements. Users can scan a single-sheet from the flatbed scanner, or they can use the 35-sheet capacity automatic document feeder for multiple page documents.

The all-in-one device has a generous paper-handling system. It comes with an adjustable 250-paper capacity tray to handle legal and letter size documents. The straight-through paper path can be employed via the manual feed slot, which ensures that envelopes and letterheads look nice. The output comes out face-down, which reduces the time it takes to organize linear paperwork, and it can hold up to 100-sheets.

The green features of this device is particularly abundant and offers qualities such as conserving energy, saving paper, and streamlining work for efficiency. It is ENERGY STAR qualified which is a testament to its capacity to use minimal energy; it uses less than 1.7 Watts in deep sleep mode. The duplex printing capabilities helps reduce paper waste, while at the same time printing with efficiency. The Toner Save Mode will reduce the amount of toner the printer uses, which is ideal for use on less critical documents. Aside from its duplex component, it can print N-in-1, which will copy or print multiple pages on one sheet.

The MFC facilitates powerful business features that enhances, streamlines, and fortifies work productivity. Its scan-to features consist of scan-to-E-mail, scan-to-file, scan-to-image, and scan-to-OCR. With the BRAdmin Professional, users can track the activity and status of any device that is on the network; it is also employed to configure network device functions.
This particular model facilitates a broad spectrum of advanced features that enhances productivity. Users can protect their print jobs with a 4-digit pin. Documents can be scanned directly to an FTP server. Scan profiles can be preset; things like size, file format, resolution, destination, and speed dial. Faxes can be sent or received via the Internet. Scanned documents can be sent to an e-mail server without the use of a personal computer. Faxes can be sent to a separate fax server for retransmission. Managers can grant or restrict access to copying, scanning, faxing, page counter, page limit, and printing.

For such a multifaceted device, it is surprising that this MFC does not print in color. It does not make much sense to make all functions, except for print and copy, to use color. It operates on a standard memory of 32 Mega Bytes, which cannot be upgraded. The paper handling options are limited to what is standard. There is not much disadvantages to using the Brother MFC 7860DW other than what is stated above.
